CLOSING TIME
The Blueshirts were the only team in the NHL who were undefeated when leading after two periods this season, posting a record of 29-0-0 in those contests. The Rangers tied for third in the league with a plus-22 goal differential in the third period (85 goals for, 63 goals against). New York also tied for second in the NHL with eight wins and 20 points in games in which it trailed entering the final frame.
RAISING THEIR GAME
The Rangers were undefeated in their last six games of the regular season vs. the top four teams in the Eastern Conference standings, including a 6-0 win at Washington on Feb. 25. New York out-scored their opponents, 27-7, in those contests, having tallied five or more goals in four of the six games while posting three shutouts.
CAPTAIN CLUTCH
Rangers Captain Chris Drury is tied for fourth in the NHL all-time with four playoff overtime goals, and ranks fourth among active NHL players and leads the team with 47 goals in 133 career postseason contests. Drury has participated in the playoffs eight times, having advanced to at least the Conference Finals in five of those eight seasons.
THE PUCK STOPS HERE
Henrik Lundqvist was named the NHL’s Third Star of the Week for the period ending Mar. 27 after posting a 2-0-1 record, 0.32 GAA, .987 Sv% and two shutouts in three games. On Mar. 26, Lundqvist established a new career-high with his league leading, 11th shutout of the season, while appearing in his 400th career game. His 11 shutouts tied for second in team history for most shutouts in a season, and are the most by a Ranger since John Ross Roach posted 13 shutouts in 1928-29. He is now one of two active goaltenders with at least two seasons of 10+ shutouts (M. Brodeur – 4). Lundqvist also posted his 30th win of the season on Mar. 18 vs. Montreal to extend his NHL record by recording 30 or more wins in six consecutive seasons to begin his career, and extend his franchise record by posting his sixth straight 30-win season. Lundqvist established a new career-high by appearing in his 22nd consecutive contest (dating back to Feb. 11) on Mar. 31 at Long Island. Lundqvist has appeared in 29 straight games entering tonight’s contest, and has started each of the Rangers last 32 playoff games.

Gotta win tonight. I can feel it. Why do I think the caps are getting spanked tonight?
Cause boudreau opened his yapper against this team of maniacs who will go through the wall to do it!
We are going to win tonight!!!
Hey I am like gaborik vs. The isles or the oilers
Fuggin’ Catalina Wine Mixer boys! Heeeeeeeere we go!
HUMPTY DUMPTY CHA…CHA…CHA…CHA…CHA!!!!
I CAN HEAR IT NOW!
Good game day morning, boneheads!
Happy 26th., CTB!
There once was a team from D.C.
Whose coach was a byfuglien crybaby
They came to the garden
Which was loud and rockin
And left town the losers they be
Glad to see the site so pumped in the morning.
I have no limericks or chants but LGR!
Ok Boneheads, what will the chant be tonight for Boudreau?? I will be listening for it from my reclyner. Is it just as simple as Potvan sucks to Boudreau sucks??
Got to play a smart game tonight no penalties and can not leave anything out on the ice. More pucks and players to the net. I could say that again MORE PUCKS AND PLAYERS TO THE NET. You can do this I know you can.
i hope we get a lead on them and maybe more than just 1 goal lead so then the boudreau chants will really rub it in.
If Brooks’ article doesn’t get your fired up for this game tonight, nothing will.
What a major puss Boudreau turned out to be. #1 seed crying like a baby to the officials after one loss.
Lets go Stache power
It feels like forever. It also feels like I am going to puke from nervousness, anticipation or excitement. But here we are, at the Fuggin’ Catalina Wine Mixer. POW! Let’s Go Rangers!!!
If you guys aren’t psyched up – watch the link that is my name. Watch it 150 times. Then you will be on the verge of puking like me. Who doesn’t want to puke!?
We will win tonight, because my playoff beard is looking good, and we just made 3 Easter Pies. All the stars are aligned, LOL. LGR!!!!!!
Did the Rangers’ press release just refer to Chris Drury as “Captain Clutch”?
Please, God, make it stop…
Whooohooo we’re gonna make it 2-2!
Manny- you watch that video 150 more times at work and your name might change to MannyFired, I’m afraid :-)
Haha. ilb – You’re totally right. My office is already a bit “concerned” over my addiction to sports and spots radio and hanging sports pictures in my office. It really isn’t that bad they just don’t like sports. At all. The only guy here is a casual devils fan at best. So annoying.
The people in my office actually think that there is something wrong with people that find fulfillment in Sports and not in other things in life. They are right….my life is so empty…oh wait. No it’s not. I am fulfilled because the Rangers are in the playoffs! LET’S GO RANGERS!!!
John – I, too, predict a blowout tonight. Final score: rangers 68 – caps 1
Sports are for losers….. Duh, winning
Good prediction eddie. Sounds like the Blackhawks vs. Canucks score from last night,
Pumped for tonight’s game…I think the biggest key is gonna be to get on the Caps early. Shake up the rookie in net and watch Tubby start to panic.
Oh, how I want to go back to D.C. tied up 2-2 with all the talk about how the Caps are choking yet again.
Let’s face it…OT could have gone either way in Game 1. And if the ref blows that play dead the Caps don’t even tie it. So, conceivably, it’s 2-1 Rangers.
Not that the Caps haven’t outplayed us for stretches, and not that our PP isn’t off the wall atrocious…but the Rangers have a right to be confident.
Boudreau has shown his hand…and it’s very shaky.
Let’s shut Humpty Dumpty up tonight!
And aren’t the Rangers due for a 5-6 goal night? Once every two weeks or so, right?
Hump-ty Dump-ty. Clap clap clap clap clap.
Amen CJP – Key is getting on them early. Someone (it may have been you) pointed out the defeat that the Caps showed after Luigi’s amazing “History Will be Made” goal. That is a shocking attitude for a team that is up 2-0. You would think they would keep their heads up. But they didn’t. Get on them early – especially in the checking department – and you can rattle them and make them panic.
BOoooooooooooooooooooo Droooooooooooooooooooooooo
Booooooooooooooooooooooo Drooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Thanks ilb (re: 26th)!
Also – I really think we could be UP 3-0 as well as up 2-1. These games have been evenly played. Maybe not minute to minute – but in the long run they have been even.
Manny, I did point that out. And watching replays of that goal I’m still surprised at how crushed the Caps looked from that goal.
I mean, Ovie layed on the ice in the exact same spot where Fetisov sprawled out after Matteau’s goal in Game 7.
Fetisov just saw his chance to go to the Stanley Cup Finals disappear and buried his face in the ice.
Ovie just saw his team lose their first game of the playoffs. And he looked just as crushed.
Neuvirth was still shaking his head on the next faceoff.
More importantly…watch that play again. There is NO WAY that Dubinsky should have been able to get to the front of the net.
But the Caps backed off. A look of fear, perhaps?
I’m reminded of the video of Messier from that ‘90 game against the Blackhawks. Coming in fast towards the goal Doug Wilson had a perfect chance to intercept Messier.
Instead, he backed off…and Mess scored.
Fear is palpable on the ice.
The Caps are afraid.
Let’s make them terrified.
In the words of Digital Underground, Bruce Boudreau knows all about getting busy in a Burger King bathroom. And by busy I mean making room for more Whoppers.
I see someone used the screen name, “onecupin71yearsand counting”. Fans of teams like the Devils, Islanders, and Flyers frequently criticize the Rangers for only winning one Stanley Cup since 1940.
What’s remarkable is that even if the Rangers went all the way this season and won the championship, they still would have won “only” two Cups in 71 years.
If they won the Cup next season, they still would have won “only” three cups in 71 years.
When does it end? When can you (or the oppositions’ fans) say that your team has won enough Cups?
The Toronto Maple Leafs, one of the premiere NHL teams, has not won the Cup since 1967. Another premiere team, the Boston Bruins, haven’t won a championship since 1972. And up until last year, the Chicago Blackhawks hadn’t won it since 1961. Not to mention that there are many teams in existence that have NEVER won a cup.
Just sayin’.
CJP – so glad I remembered it was you. That was such a great point. I did go back and have since watched that goal upwards of 150 times. (no joke). The defeat is unfathomable. First round of the playoffs, first game they lose – still in the drivers seat up 2-1 with a 4 day break coming up. And they fall on the ice like they just lost the Cup in the last year that they can play.
Boudreau either has them wound up way too tightly or they are just scared. Very scared. I lean towards both. It is palpable and we better feed off it tonight and hit them HARD when they are off-balance and confused.
Gaborik needs to be the opposite of scared tonight. Get the puck and shoot the puck in an instant. Strike fear into the opponent. Quick release.
Devils fans are pathetic. It’s like crazed baseball fans and those silly Yankees AND Red Sox shirts “got rings?” It’s insane. Past championships mean NOTHING during the current season and if you focus on that junk then you aren’t focused on the task at hand.
The Debbies are in a down phase and they are really bitter about it.
It’s all aboot the quick release!
Let’s Go Rangers!! Rangers in Six!
Quick Release = Win = Rangers in 6 = Hobbit Wizard called up for next round! = magic
LETS GO RANGERS!!!! IN THIS TEAM I TRUST!
Let’s go rangers
Good morning, Carp!
I plan on informing Boudreau that the benches and locker room wouldn’t seem so small if he would simply eat a salad once in a while
Will anyone be at the Flying Puck tonight (and, will it have sound)?
Joe girardi and Eric staal need to stand tall tonight…. Some keys to victory: rangers must show up, rangers must come to play, rangers must bring their A game, and finally – score more goals than the craps… Anyone hear anything in Crosby? I have to think that he either will or will not play this series.
Good morning, Sally!
Happy 26th, CTB!
hey all,
big day….watched that Dubinsky History clip and now I can’t sit still.
I don’t know how I’m gonna get through the rest of the day now.
I started thinking about what the Rangers need to do tonight, Gabby, power play, etc….
But screw it, that was getting me down. They just need to come out hard and win a damn hockey game, Ranger style (UGLY)
LGR!!!!
Ed – there should be sound or not.
”# BroadwayRoe April 20th, 2011 at 9:39 am
Hump-ty Dump-ty. Clap clap clap clap clap.”
If this caught on, it would be amazing.
The whole “comfortable” bench thing reminds me of an episode of Arrested Development entitled “Staff Infection” where Lindsay takes over as Secretary at the Bluth Company and then redecorates the office because the lights are too bright – she makes the office somewhere you would rather sleep than work.
Applying this theory to the benches, I would rather have the boys excited to get off the bench and on the ice rather than really comfortable in their prime seats as a spectator.
Huge game tonight…butterflies starting….
10 Keys to the game:
1. Show up;
2. Come to play;
3. Wear uniforms;
4. Bring sticks;
5. Bring Skates;
6. Put Skates on;
7. Use those skates on ice;
8. Shoot the puck at the net;
9. Put the biscuit in the basket more times than your opponent; and
10. Let the opponent put their biscuit in your basket less times than you put your biscuit in their basket.
Good morning all! I predict a win for CT’s 26th birthday (happy one to you!) and Nasty’s beard!
Eddie – Click on my name to increase those butterflies.
here’s my column on fedotenko:
http://www.lohud.com/article/20110420/COLUMNIST01/104200318/Fedotenko-leading-Rangers-playoff-series-vs-Caps
Thanks Carp, I’ll be in section 324 tonight. But I’ll be waiting for Mrs. CTB to come down from Westchester so I don’t know what time I’ll get to my seats. If we’re in early enough we’ll try to stop by.
MSG should install wider benches for the Caps tonight. Really put the squeeze on Boudreau.
If the cap’s benches are that uncomfortable, they should all be able to lean back into the soft belly of their coach…he holds 14 easily.
Happy 2(Rangers in )6 CT!
Carp – I thought Feds was 32? Good article!
Manny – your keys are spot on… Especially the one about their skates. This isn’t street hockey
Instead of getting personal with Boudreau ( for he won’t get it anyhow), Just a long drawn out BRUCEEEEEEEE…...MEEEEEOWW!
Might get to him a bit quicker.
Eddie – Brilliant. You know I heard a quote yesterday from a player, and forgive me I don’t remember the guy’s name, and the quote was about how the Rangers need to play a tough “hockey game.” Well great point guy but you forgot that you are on the ICE – this is ICE hockey – and not street hockey. The rules are different. These guys have got to know this is ICE hockey where you are allowed to check people. This is crucial because if I had more than ten keys one of the other keys would be “hit harder than the other team.”
Happy b-day CT
Manny – in order to win, Hank needs to allow fewer goals than the craps goalie…
Eddie, I was expecting a comment along the lines of “the key to celebrating a birthday is to make sure you were born on the date it says your were born on. Not the day before or the day after, the exact day”.
I know there is much going on in the world these days, but the fact that NBC’s today show didn’t lead off their show with a crosby update is absurd.
CT – your point seems valid. Assuming you were born at all that is…
CTB, Happy 26!
CT, you said it the other day…The reason why Humpty Dumpty is so cranky lately is because he found out that the Haagen Daz in Penn Station closes before 10 PM.
Eddie, it really is. They give us updates on the royal wedding everyday but no Crosby? Didn’t we fight a war of independence so we didn’t have to be inundated with news about the royals?
CT! That is spot on – Sometimes people get confused about their Birthday. These people are normally Muslims (Lunar Calendar) or Jews (Lunar-Solar Calendar). When they use the Roman Calendar (Solar Calendar) they don’t find the dates of their birthday on their calendar matching up with their original birthday. In this situation you run into problems where people are not celebrating their birthday on the right day. It’s great that you knew to find the right day because a miscalculation of a few hours could throw off the whole thing.
NYR, which is why Humpty’s comments are so peculiar. Game 3 was a day game, maybe Haagen Daz was closed on Sunday?
CT – it’s those kind of brilliant observations that just earned you the right to be our first guest on the Edie, manny, and mamma show.
LOL! Maybe!
Doodie- are you going to the game? We can start it! I’ll get my section going and you guys can join in!
CTB, 26, Happy Birthday!
morning ILB and all!!
Happy Birthday CT and Banj (sorry I missed it yesterday)
Ok, so here is the plan. I was off of work for game 3, but I have to work untill 1AM easter time today/tonight. So to not ruin the vibe of the game 3 victory, I’m going to go in a couple of hours early and go “oops read the schedule wrong” so I will have to take about a 3 hour lunch to watch the game. Good idea, right?
so was either of the pressers after the hawks nucks game heated? Did you see bieksa pummel that guy? Like the way the nucks gave the what for at the end of the game, showed some spirit after a horrible game (sorry olga). Reminded me of a few of our guys at the end of the isles game.
It does seem possible, and therefore likely, that the date on which you are born should also be your birthday…how did I not see that one before… This truly is a great day.
At least the Hawks kept their lead. The Kings choked, royally.
Sharks game was insane.
Wicky – GREAT Idea.
Carp
great feds article btw!!
Intersting stuff re: effect of NFL schedule on Winter Classic in 2012.
http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puck_daddy/post/What-new-NFL-schedule-means-for-2012-NHL-Winter-?urn=nhl-wp2988&utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
thanks manny!!!
That game was insane, Eddie. Sharks showed a lot of bite last night…
I am amazed I stayed up to watch it and still got up to go to work…I’m on running on pure adrenaline (and caffeine) right now…
Gabby finally arrives tonight.
I watched the games last night- got into bed and became so anxious I couldn’t sleep over tonight’s game. I am with you NYR. It’s like “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” when Depp shoots up the adrenaline. “As your attorney I advice you to take 3 drops of this.”
Wick – We all though of you when Bieksa crunched that guy…
thought*
Wicky – another thought… Just before the ranger game, leave work saying you will be right back… After the game, casually stroll in and say… Ok..I’m back
I am off to the NHL store to pick up a shirt of one of our Heroes. Probably Dubinsky? Got to stock up.
NYR
And that is why I love you guys!!
eddie x3
consider it done.
THE WAITING IS OVER!! NO MORE 199…ERR
i mean, finally its a game day! :)
LET’S GO RANGERS!
Carp, great read on Feds, but my only quibbles:
“He’s certainly in the conversation, and he’s been involved in so many big, rugged, moments — the two most recent, the disallowed bank-shot goal he scored at the second-period buzzer in Game 3, and the board battles he won and the pick he set on Alex Ovechkin on Brandon Dubinsky’s game-winning goal.”
1) How could you leave out the diving play to break up the 2 on 1?
2) Fedotenko is 32. Or 26, like Josh Thomson, 26.
NYR-fan – just be awake come game time… If you need to take a nap at work, it’s ok.
have their been any “stache” t shirts made yet? Too soon??
Carp, will you be around so I can say a quick hello before the game tonight?
Haha! I will be Eddie!
Great article on Feds, Carp. He is a very solid player and I hope he’s back next year…
The beard contest should be won by anybody who grows a stache and colors it jet black.
my mistake. he’s 32. I even bothered to look up his birthday and still got it wrong.
Doodie, I said the two most recent.
Noah, not sure … but stop by the box pre-game if you can. Or between first and second.
Those who entered the beard contest can certainly switch to ‘stache and let the Boneheads sort it out.
NYR
yes, resign him!! 2 more years.
carp
how many ended up in the beard contest
Carp – Me too. I looked up his birithday yesterday and was shocked at how young he is.
Carp, I’d blame Boyle for calling him 31.
Carp
you never answered my question… how many people are in the “beard” contest? i hope im not the only schmuck!
I should be there pregame, Carp. I’ll be in my work clothes but with a nice, week-long beard. I’m in this to win this!
cccp
I am in it as well, so 2 schmucks for sure!
ok so noah makes 3
C3, I’m in it with you.
ok so 3 schmucks! anybody else?
imagine if we go all the way? whoa… my beard is kind of thick already! Miracle grow, baby! lol
C3, I think we had seven or eight or so … including Sally.
Gaborik scored multiple goals tonight. My post at 10:26. Just wanted to get it in early…. In case I forget later due to the jubilation of watching the caps implode from the goalie on in (out?) tonight.
Sally? forget it! we have no chance now!
cccp
I have such a baby face, but i’m confident i will win!
Not to be Deborah Downer, Negative Nancy, Pouty Peter, etc., but I just have a bad feeling about tonight’s game.
knuble may be out if that helps noah!
No pressure guys…it’s not like if the Rangers lose, they have to win 3 in a row, and 2 of them in DC. ...oh wait…
Rangers would only have to win 1 in DC if they win tonight.
Just entered in “bruce boudreau humpty dumpty” into google. It returned 17,900 results.
I got this from a TSN comments section. I am going to break the links up to avoid any problems.

Is Warren 77 a good place to actually watch the game tonight? does it get really crowded? Its a long way to go down there if it turns out to be a bust
I went to the viewing party at Stout nyc and thought that was pretty good.
Any thoughts or advice on where to watch the game (with sound) in NYC would be greatly appreciated
Thanks Y’all!
I’m in 349 tonight!
Heading to the Train Station in a few.
Got my Beer
Got my Train Ticket
Got my “Dumpy” (Humpty) Garden Ticket
You WILL hear me tonight.
I guarantee it like a Mess
LGR!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome! Hope you guys are Super, Duper Loud.
Make this team win tonight so I can be guaranteed my spot at Game 6!
W77 is small so it will definitely get crowded. I’d say unless you’re going to get there fairly early you’ll probably be left standing. It does have a lot of TVs though so anywhere you stand you’ll be able to see the game.
I’d definitely say one of the pubs near MSG is your better bet for a more comfortable viewing experience.
Someone should dump a gallon of urine on Humpty Dumpty tonight! if anyone wants to pay for a ticket behind the Craps bench i will gladly do so myself!
CTB, thank you!
I was sorting of thinking that was a better way to go.
LGR!!!! Let’s stick it in the ear of the Craps and that Toe-head Boudreau
Gillis, Yzerman, Poile nominated for NHL – GM of the year award. No Slats? What a travesty!
Thanks Wicky!
Let’s not forget to stick it to Ovechkin. Contain him. Pummel him. Embarrass him.
Haha! Seven or eight schmucks! May the Rangers win big and our beards grow wild!

Tony – looks like that time zone lag really got you this time….
Equally funny the second time though!
Sorry Manny, I’ve not been here in awhile.
But …. I”M BACK !!!
that gif is amazing.
To-ny! To-ny! To-ny! (you like that chant – imagine it starting soft and then exploding – so loud that Bruce B’s head explodes!)
This website put together video of all the hits Mike Green has taken in the first 3 games. I honestly don’t think he was hit hard enough.
Are the Rangers Head-Hunting Green?
http://www.skateskateshoot.com/2011/04/are-rangers-head-hunting-green.html
I’ll be yelling so loud tonight you’ll hear me at the garden.
Times like this that I really miss NY
....and thanks NYR_FAN and Carp!
Must win ???
It’s times like these that NY misses Tony.
Awwww shucks, thx Manny
You got it Tony.
You know what stinks? The NHL store has like NO Rangers gear. Aside from a Gaborik and an Avery t shirt. They also have some “fashionable” items with the Rangers logo but you can’t just get a Dubinsky (Luigi) or The Prust T-shirt there. Now I have to walk all the way to the Garden. Sheeeeeeeesh. This is NYC man!
NHL store is hit or miss. I think the Rangers gear sells out pretty fast there.
Hope you have good walking weather Manny
Yo Blaze – (please post more often – I really love saying BLAZE)
1. Boyle vs. Green: Boyle looks like maybe a hip check at most – but Green looks off-balance and he basically knocked himself on his arse there.
2. Dubinsky vs. Green: This his looks like Green threw himself into the boards – aside from Dubinsky bracing himself with some hands to the chest on Green there is barely a hit
3. Avery / Prust vs. Green: Please – both guys pulled up and gave him, at most, a little shove.
4. Staal v. Green: Maybe slightly dirty because of the hands to the head – but not intentional. Staal took a swipe at most as he flew by trying to prevent the goal that was scored.
After my incredible review & analysis I would agree that he was not hit hard enough. Those are all not solid hits. Maybe his concussion is effecting his balance a bit but the Rangers certainly are not head-hunting him. (not that there is anything wrong with that).
...and of course Sally!
Alittle something to laugh at Russian fan get on the ice for a fight at a Juniors tournement.
http://aol.sportingnews.com/nhl/story/2011-04-20/whered-he-come-from-fan-gets-in-on-hockey-fight?icid=main%7Chtmlws-main-n%7Cdl5%7Csec1_lnk3%7C210334
CT – you’re totally right. Sometimes they are stocked on NYR stuff and sometimes they are not. There are some busted looking women out in front handing out puck-shaped ice cream sandwich things to generate some interest in the sport. Great job Hockey! Bring in that Nascar crowd.
Also the front half of the store is overrun with some silly stage for broadcasting. Impossible to move in there. Also – why do they share space with Starbucks? Can we get a wall there? Please?
Steve – that is AWESOME. Why does that guy get a penalty? Shouldn’t he get kicked out rather than 5 minutes in the box? Maybe they put him in the box to wait for the penalized player he just tried to fight to get in there too?
“You know what stinks? The NHL store has like NO Rangers gear. Aside from a Gaborik and an Avery t shirt. I actually wrote the NHL shop a while back (I wanted a Boyle shirtsey to wear around Boston) and they told me they aren’t allowed to offer custom shirtseys like all the other major sports do because of licensing. So the NHL shop isn’t even fully licensed by the NHL when it comes to seemingly easy revenue producers like player apparel. Pretty surprising and yet not surprising at all. Go Bettman.
The Doctor: Really? That’s insane. At the beginning of the year they had a lot of Rangers stuff – lots of team shirts in the Heritage color. Then they disappeared. I guess that would explain it. Now they carry a lot of Mitchell & Ness and maybe some Reebok stuff. Shot glasses, beer mugs, mirrors and way too much women’s stuff.
Also – It has more Whalers gear than the Hartford Civic Center had. I know, I tried to buy Whalers stuff when they were a team and it wasn’t “easy.”
Guess I will have to take my business online so I can get the Heritage Jersey with Callahan on the back and a big. fat “C” on the breast.
NHL Store is..
First: Reebok store
Second: NHL Store
get it?
“Ken Hitchcock before he flew out to Europe for WC. Talking shotblocking, KH said “the NYR play like 5 goalies”.”
Was he not including Henrik or referring to a shift where EC was on the ice?
LMAO The Doctor!
Manny try this place for some Rangers gear Sports Fever their located on avenue U in Brooklyn I was there yesterday and they had lots of Rangers stuff . They also do customizing too. I’m going back there now to get some shirts but will not wear tonight per ilb’s instructions to do everything the same as we did on Sunday.
“NHL Store is..
First: Reebok store
Second: NHL Store
get it?”
That doesn’t make it seem any less second rate compared to the other majors.
Haha yea – i will be wearing my unwashed Rangers stuff from Sunday in the same spot with the same meal. No worries.
Ria – Good looking out on the BK connection. I love my borrough!
Best place I’ve dealt with in the past, if you don’t mind the wait, is River City Sports online. I think they’re in Winnipeg. But they often have deals that blow away anything you’ll find in the tri-state area.
Any thoughts on Knuble being out for the Caps tonight? That’s gotta help us, you’d think.
For everybody going to the game tonight…let’s dedicate this to budreau: Can you hear us?! Clap Clap ClapClapClap! Can you hear us?! Clap Clap ClapClapClap!
CJP, yeah I ordered a few jerseys from River City. Got a couple of authentics at 50% earlier this year.
That doesn’t make it seem any less second rate compared to the other majors.
———-
because it is second rate store…that was my point.
Knuble is really out?
There’s some weird agreement with the NHL store and the teams with how much merchandise gets stocked there. They explained it to me when I was looking for a heritage jersey after they first came out. When they had the unveiling of the jerseys last fall the stock they were selling was MSG’s stock, not the store’s. I suppose they don’t want to come off as favoring one team over the rest, but they have to know that Rangers merchandise would be among their best selling teams.
Oh – MSG’s stock. That makes sense. What is wrong with the NHL – why can’t they just Promote this incredible sport!?
Knuble took a day off from practice but is expected to play:
http://www.nhl.com/ice/blogpost.htm?id=751
Lucy – Can you Hear us! I like it.
Masisak’s article on nhl.com was from yesterday while Andrew Gross had the following report on his blog – Let’s hope Andrew is correct :-)
http://blogs.northjersey.com/blogs/rangerrants/comments/game_4_morning_skates_and_caps_knuble_out/
Isn’t it just about time for a new post pre game time post practice pre go time? God I want this game to start but I also want to throw up over it.
Manny, if you’re gonna spew…spew into this….
Party on, Garth.
“Hump-ty Dump-ty. Clap clap clap clap clap.” I’ll be at the game and see if I can get that started. Hilarious.
Blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh
Ok – I booted – now I am ready to pre-game and go time!
I think the key tonight is that the Rangers score more goals than the Caps.
Good job Noah – way to recognize the small things. Most people look big picture – score more goals than the opponent or (the Olga theory) allow your opponent to score less goals than you. This gives you a pretty good chance to win.
Tonight = Win #2
Noah echoing the great Glenn Healy:
“We need to score more goals than the Washington Capitals. If we score more goals than they do, believe it or not, we win the hockey game.”
ok assens, I’m off to work. Hope I’m going in a the right time (cough cough wink wink). Perlast game, won’t be posting during “go time” thread so enjoy and LGR!!!!
Eric Fehr is rejoining the lineup in place of Knuble. Chimera moving up to top line in place of Knuble.
I liked Fehr a lot last year but his game really dropped off this year.
I’ll be standing in 221 trying to start the Humpty Dumpty chant. Boneheads unite! Let’s get this one off the ground!
Fuggin Catalina Wine Mixer!
Why isn’t a huge game alone enough to get the crowd this fired up.
Rangers play the Caps, not that fat fudd. You’re fighting the wrong fight IMO.
How about focusing the energy on cheering the Rangers, especially when they need a boost.
Garden with be like an overly excited teenager prematurely spewing some silly Boudreau chant and come up empty when it counts.
LET’S GO RANGERS!!!
ddebened-
Totally agree. I’m just having some fun here. I will be screaming my head off for the boys in every way possible. Really, any chant will suffice. I just want him to hear how loud the Garden can truly be.
LETS GO RANGERS.
Yea I have said it before – when waiting for a game it’s fun to make fun of Brucey and the other babies…but come game time it’s all:
Let’s Go Rangers!
I mean…this is the Fuggin’ Catalina Wine Mixer!
Hump-ty Dump-ty clap clap clap clap clap Can you hear us?! clap clap clap clap clap
I know, have your fun, I just want to win.
Me just being an idiot.
dde! Wanting to win does not make you an idiot. It makes you a freakin’ WINNER!
Thx Manny but I should probably be more accepting of people wanting to have fun.
Yeah Winning!
I’m so tired of pretending like my life isn’t just perfect and just winning every second, and I’m not just perfect and biTChing and just delivering the goods at every frickin’ turn.
Dde – Honestly. I respect anyone’s opinion who wants to win more than that of someone that just wants to have fun. I can make fun of fat brucey but he is not on the ice and I would rather see Green and Knuble and Ovie going to the trainers room than Brucey getting heckled.
Carp- We need a next game countdown clock like they have on blueshirtsunited.com.
3 hrs 46 min 30 sec
I just want it loud and proud! I’ve been sick all day. Byfuglien.
And by that I mean real sick, not just anxious for game sick :)
I am anxious sick. I will walk by the Garden on my way home. Just to get a feel. It better be loud!
Mama, you have to feel better by game time!
Mama – you will feel better by game time!
winning is the cure
dde- that seems way to far away. I need to get away from computers, meetings, and blackberries and get to my happy place, MSG.
Manny – Maybe some are just better at doing both, I don’t know. I doubt it’s fair to say I want to win more than someone else. Just approach it differently perhaps. All I know is I’m fired up!
LET’S GO RANGERS!!!
Don’t let Our Boys down Roe. Make us proud!
Where is Eric today? Is he OK? Is he at the Garden screaming at the Caps yet?
I smell victory
RANGERS IN 6
I smell victory too…
Btw – Eddie, happy April 20th, brutha….
I smell broccoli and beef. Mmmmm.
Rangers trying to push “can you hear us” chant for tonight: http://twitter.com/#!/thenyrangers/status/60730559562915840
How about we push a “Let’s Go Rangers” chant. The best way to annoy Brucey is to ignore him. He wants to take the focus off his team – let’s refuse to let it happen.
Let’s Go Rangers!!!
Thanks all. Actually, being real and anxious sick is a sick combo. But I will tough it out for our boys! It’s Just Pain (and other stuff you don’t want to know about….:)
“Can you hear us” chant is pretty lame.
Need something more derogatory. That’s the New York way!
Come on Mama, let’s hear all about that other stuff. We’re Ranger fans, we can take it. BTW it’s snowing again up here in Nova Scotia.
Manny, I agree, stick with the real chant, don’t put the focus on Dumpty. Stay tried and true blue. Though…...I will LOL and at anything else :)
Greecian, normally I’d like that, today it just makes me want to boudreau (Def: Lose it from the mouth in an unappealing way)......Hey a new term!!!!!
Here you go, dde:
3:07:42
Anyone that’s going to game and considering getting a hot dog, you might not be able to put your usual condiments on top:
http://tinyurl.com/6f6q32o
Really the only thing that I want to do tonight is sing the GOAL song over and over and over
Boudreau (Def: Lose it from the mouth in an unappealing way)......Hey a new term!!!!!
********
Brilliant!
ORR, agreed!
Cape, sorry about the snow. But even though it’s “spring” here, I’m just now seeing the sun for the first time in 4 days. Hartnell.
And no, I am a believer in the TMI rule :)
Roe, me too!
Thanks Manny!
CT, that did so not not help my cause today….(boudreau!)
You think MSG has any kosher for Passover items available tonight? A Ranch One sandwich with matzah perhaps?
Hump-ty Dump-ty…clap clap clap-clap-clap!
btw, this for Krisy (and Anne).....RIP Grete Waitz…One of Norway’s finest!!!!
Noah! I convinced my buddy to get Ranch 1 today for the first time.
You can bring a LOT of hard boiled eggs and eat them near Brucey and then tell him he stinks.
Noah, you have a better chance with some of the halel guys on the street :) My Orthodox friend from California swears by them :)
Pelt him with gefilte fish, in jelly not broth!! Welcome to NY!!!!
Is there no “Strictly Kosher” at MSG? Back in the days when I cared about that stuff I used to swear by their hot dogs. Delicious. I still get them but for different reasons.
Manny, some folks dis them, but I like the dogs at MSG, nice snap….the ones at the former Debbie arena were for carcillo. And I don’t want to know your different reasons….wtb? :)
My reasons now are simply – better taste!
Ahhh….Yes! Good answer! Hey, my fave “fast food”....NYC hot dog cart, mustard and kraut….or a gyro if I have time to wash up before train :) Heaven….
OK all, off to rest before game. All this food talk is making hungry, and want to boudreau (man, I really like this RR term! :)
Later! LGR!!
I honestly may just get a sandwich or a hot dog and just toss the bun.
One thing I love about Passover = I always lose a couple pounds!
Noah, you obviously stay away from the manashevetz then :)
http://i.imgur.com/5hd2H.jpg
As if giving up 7 goals wasn’t bad enough, he now has to deal with being taunted by Vince fuggin Vaughn???
He must have hit the bottle hard last night
And now I hate Vince Vaughn. I will not even watch your movies on cable anymore. Goodbye.
Mama, that stuff is disgusting. I stick with mostly water during the 8 days. So no $9 MSG beers tonight for me.
LMAO! Doodie, that picture is classic!
Noah, I know :) just joshing (not the 26 kind) ....hey, think of the money you’ll save! Last time I was at MSG it cost me almost $40 for two sodas, one water and one beer and a popcorn….WTB!!!!!!!
and btw, wicky, I never said TA, so none of these posts count as a wicky…just saying, in case you’re around…
Nyrfan – inhale this….its chronic
Lovely, just found cat boudreau….anyone else?
I need more pills…anxious and nervous
outside the garden. place is rocking. boudreau going to hear it. lets go rangerssssssssssssssss.
puff puff puff….
THE PRUST is a must
The garden ain’t the only thing rocking Eric …..
Avery shoots and scooooooorrrrres
“Avery shoots and scooooooorrrrres”
Now I know you’ve been smoking.
Eddie, don’t you mean…..
Sam: Avery shoots….goes wide
or
Sam: Avery shoots….OH MY GOD, the puck just hit that baby in his/her face!!!
or
Sam: Avery shoots….hey…where did my toupee go??
MannyFried said it so perfectly: feels like I am going to puke from nervousness, anticipation or excitement.
Then MAMA made it even better: feels like I am going to boudreau from nervousness, anticipation or excitement.
MAMA: Vince Vaughn!!! LOL We don’t need him we got our own. LOL !!!
Forgot to say: LGR!!!
LGR whenever torts complained about the refs, the next game was worse for the rangers….zebras feel free to penalize the caps all night long
Puff puff
new post.
If Avery scores tonight, I may be forced to EAT my beard. Too bad I have to cut it after the game…but the mustache stays!!!!
Fire Sather
