Since the Rangers are skating at the Garden tomorrow morning, it’s doubtful we will have any pre-game stuff from John Tortorella. However, if I find a link after the morning skate, I’ll post it here … or you can do the same. I know that Jesse Spector often posts video of Tortorella’s pressers, and the Rangers site does too … though sometimes it’s just a snippet and sometimes it’s late to go up.
I will also have the usual pre-game notes posted in the morning.
Then Josh, 26, and I will be at the Garden for Game 4 … and I will also be at Game 5 and all subsequent games until the Canyon of Heroes. I think.

eddie, so far in this series, the team that has scored more goals is 3-0. The team that scores fewer is 0-3. So the way I see it, if the Rangers had scored more goals than the Capitals in all three games, they could be up 3-0. Vice versa, if the Capitals had scored more goals than the Rangers in all three games, they could be up 3-0. So, I am predicting that if the Rangers score more goals than the Capitals tomorrow, the series will be tied 2-2, and the team scoring more goals will be 4-0 in the series. However, if the Capitals score more goals tomorrow, they will be up 3-1, and the Rangers will probably need to score more goals than the Capitals in each of the next three games.
And, no, we do NOT want overtime … for deadline purposes. Or a shootout, but that’s another discussion for the regular 82.

Carp brings up some GREAT points. Really. The series is indeed 2-1 right now in favor of the caps. If you think of the games as goals (both have a G so this shouldn’t be too hard) then the team with more G at the end of the series will win. You can think of it as a skills competition – first one to 4 G’s wins. Now – if the Rangers can score more G’s and then win more G’s than the Capitals – they should take the series.

Olga – what is this civil war book you are reading?
Manny what is your level of understanding? For overview try Shelby Foote’s “The Civil War: A Narrative”, a massive, three-volume history of the war. I’ve read it 3 times already.
I am reading more and more on specific battles. Antietam is an exciting study. And the battlefield itself is in excellent preservation. I like to read about the battle, then visit the battlefield, then read it again. It’s so much better if you can see just what the writers are talking about.

Yea that was embarrassing. Where is the leadership? No one steps up. No one knows what to do. It’s so sad. NO leadership. None.
So different than NYR because no matter how close the score is the Knicks lose in brutal, embarrassing ways. The Rangers play well the whole game and really, I think, were evenly matched in the long run and could be up 3-0. Knicks deserve to be down 0-2.
Manny- it was between Water St and the Chemung River, just about at the intersection of W. Water and Hoffman St.
D’Antoni drew up a play for Jared ‘has no offense’ Jeffries. And with 4 seconds left, we are left without a timeout, and did not even foul until .6 seconds. Thanks D’Antoni for your lack of coaching. We conceded the game. We should be up 2-0 in this series. In spite of the refereeing in Game 1, we should have won, and didn’t. D’Antoni’s desire was for Jeffries to get the ball with 10 seconds remaining. Sad. We’re not even going to win a game this series. We played 2 terrific games on the road, now it’s time for the flop in Games 3 and 4. . The Knicks do have a very bright indeed, just like the Rangers. Hopefully, D’Antoni is gone next year, he has no concept of how to run a team. He is absolutely useless, he has no value as a coach, he was made by Amar’e and Steve Nash, and now Carmelo and Amar’e. Maybe both the Rangers and Knicks will be competing for the title next year, if a NYK coaching change is made. But we’ll probably have to wait until 2012-13 for a new coach.

D’antoni was enamored with Doc Rivers (a GREAT coach) idea to go unorthodox with Garnett. He did the same. It did NOT work. Instead we got a turnover and a flop and then a terrible, ridiculous wait 95% of the remaining clock time to foul debacle. What a joke. He was not nearly mad enough at the end of that game. I did not. BUT – I went to Connecticut College which was also a women’s college for the majority of it’s history. So we both went to schools that were not always co-ed and we both know Elmira (you live there, I spent a lot of my childhood there).

I actually like the new Geico commercial with Foghorn Leghorn. I can do without most of those ones, but I find that particularly funny. I have a weird sense of humor. Some of it’s really dark and ill-flavored, or ill-humored, should I say, but then a large chunk of it is ridiculously lame and corny. For instance, I yelled at my sister today for being “Passover Aggressive.” I thought it was the funniest thing ever.
