  1. Lots of respect for the integrity and professionalism shown by the Lightning. They have a very nice team. Hopefully, we can thank them in the EC finals.

craps are truly dropping carcillo turds in their pants…speaking of turds…any word on crosby?

  3. CapeBretonRangerFan on

oh eddie, now that linda is gone to bed, i can tell you something…she is 100% into ME buddy!

  4. CapeBretonRangerFan on

Just getting warmed up huh Orr? Do you know what kind of foe you’re facing here? A Cape Bretoner cannot be drunk under the table. Has never happened, never will!!

  5. eddie eddie eddie on

can you guys believe it????????????????…i am soooo happy, its not funny….

  6. CapeBretonRangerFan on

Eddie, this is the best, four and a half hours later, and victory is still oh so sweeeeeet!

  7. Andrew Yogan the Rangers 2010 4th round pick scored 2 goals in his first game with the Whale yesterday.

I think he’s been hurt most the year and had only played 10 games for the Erie Otters of the OHL.

McIlrath’s first fight with the Whale in that same game.

  8. LOL! He pats his head after the fight.

    I hope he’s the real deal. I’m not looking for offense, I just want a wicky-style d-man.

But, that Cam Fowler had a pretty good rookie season. 10 goals, 30 assists.

Although he was a -25. Ouch!

Speaking of which, it’s disappointing that Del Z wont be with the team. It would have been nice for him to get some games in the playoffs.

  9. CapeBretonRangerFan on

We need a hockey player, not a fighter. We have the power of PRUST!Prove you can play hockey first Dylan, then we’ll talk.

  10. Yeah, I’m not looking for a goon. Someone like Sour Power is what I want. You can never have too many of those.

And we have V-Tank, Kundratek, and Redden.

So many blue line prospects. It’s great!

  11. eddie eddie eddie on

allright lads….i will see you all tomorrow…GREAT DAY INDEED….READY TO START UP AGIN IN THE MORNIN

  12. CapeBretonRangerFan on

Sour Por is EXACTLY what exery team needs. Did you see how happy he was when Dylan scored his first goal tonight? This duo will FAR surpass the Stall-Girardi duo in another year.

  13. Carp, that was just tremendously tremendous! I must go niters now……LGR!!!!!!!! Oh, I can’t wait to share my day’s stories with you all tomorrow…….To Krisy and Fozzy….MAMA LOVE!

  14. Love that Prustie pic.

    Carp is da man.

On that note, good night gang! I’ll sleep well tonight that is for sure

  15. Bottom Line The Rangers played very hard all year and never gave up. 29-0 after having the lead going into the 3rd period speaks for itself. Tampa Bay is now my 2nd favorite team. Lets go Rangers

  16. CapeBretonRangerFan on

Can’t say enough good things about Tampa Bay. 100% class organization, let by Vinnie and Marty!

  17. Hey guys, I know it’s kinda late, but I’m still up looking for my jock. has anyone seen it? Please let me know if anyone’s found it, I’ve looked in all the usual places, but can’t seem to track it down. Thanks in advance, oh, and, good luck in the post-season!

  18. Not when it’s 10am here you’re not, Orr…

I woke up grinning, which is a total contrast to Friday morning after the Thrashers debacle.

I was also amused by that oompa loompa Tripp Tracy making excuses about injuries for the Hurricanes roughly 30 seconds after the final horn last night. That team has had virtually no injuries all year and the disparity between Carolina and the Rangers in terms of man-games lost and the same weighted by cap hit is so enormously enormous to be laughable.

  19. LMAO, LW3H! The moment you mentioned pic #3 is ripe for photoshopping, I knew you’d come up with some work of art.

Good morning, boneheads! REALLY GOOD MORNING.

Now, for the hangover this am. I suggest you all drink a lot of water, eat fresh fruits, and, as tempting as it may be, stay away from beer.

  20. And This One Will Last A Lifetime on

Carp…Oleo…some more guys that put up Christian Thomas numbers…Don Murdoch, Steve Vickers,

  21. onecupin71yearsand counting on

A few days ago the ranger ship was sinking and the fans were scrambling.. today its smooth sailing..

  22. Nothing amazes me more than the perceptual swings this team goes thru. They were in contention, went 14-6-1, and still looked a mess going down the stretch. It looked like one day they were world beaters, the next day dogs. Crazy the way a couple games can swing the entire mood of a team and its fan base.

    Me included.

  23. gregm_section403 on

Carp (and his boss) must be happy. By my count, over 2,000 comments on yesterday’s blog posts! Page views were probably 10x that.

    Good job Boneheads!!

If someone knows how to bottle up our passion and give some of it to Gabby, be my guest.

  24. i love you all.

what a night. i didnt watch one second of the carolina game. i was too nervous. how many people besides me couldnt bare to watch.

my 8 week old son kept me from the ledge and kept me occupied last night while you bonehaeds broke the good news to me. once i saw over 700 posts i new a miracle had happened

    16 wins to the cup.

    history will be made

  25. Cam Fowler sounds like a west-coast MDZ. Scoring 40 points is useless when you go -25 as a defenseman but we’ll see.

McIlrath was the second defenseman picked in that draft for a reason.

Oh and that picture of Prust is awesome.

  26. The Alprazolam takes priority over the vodka here, Eddie.

    I also love you Boneheads.

I predict either the Rangers or Capitals will take the series in anywhere from four to seven games.

  27. Eric, I’m usually more nervous when I can’t watch. There was a good amount of crazy ‘heads watching it last night. Most were utterly drunk.

Which answers your question, eddie3- all gone as of last night.

  28. I’m not gonna be around today, I have a family gathering and then later I have an end-of-the-year indoor soccer party for my championship team. Let’s hope I can soon have TWO championship teams!

  29. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Ilb- good thing I drank close to 2 gallons of water yesterday or I would still be 7 sheets to the wind… up at 6:15 am local time???? I must be crazy Eddie Eddie Eddie…..this place is insaaaaaaaaaane

  30. I should have gone to the Hurricanes game last night in my Rangers gear. I seriously thought about it and then I got this picture of me getting beat up in the parking lot….

I’m still going to go to my game today wearing Rangers stuff and if the Hurricanes’ employees team doesn’t like it, well too bad.

  31. As you get older and have more experiences, you realize what will be memorable and appreciate it more as it’s happening because you also realize that there are not that many moments that are truly memorable. Yesterday was one of those days and moments and spending last night during the TB-Carolina game was part of making the moment memorable.
Carp – thanks for all you do here, this blogged become a special place for Ranger fans to hang together.

  32. Yes, Carp, you are truly a great Ranger fan and a great person for all you do here. I’ve been a part of this community for a long time, but in the beginning I was a silent bonehead like ria. Only recently have I begun posting with any sort of regularity. Thanks a ton.

  33. GOOD morning everyone! What a happy day it is!! Thanks Carp for all the hard work you put into the regular season. It is much appreciated!

  34. Noah-rury-allahan, 28 on

This awful hangover was worth everything that happened yesterday. Whew!

  35. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Ricardo – I need a Crosby update… Please use every contact in your roladex…

  36. Keep bringing it, ‘heads! I don’t think we thank Carp enough for what he’s been doing for us…

Latona- it may come as a surprise, but Carp doesn’t root for Rangers. It’s true, I couldn’t believe it myself initially.

  37. Everything was worth what happened yesterday! Everything!

That picture of The Prust is hilarious. Absolutely Hilarious.

I hope a bunch of us can get together for a game and go crrrrrazy and set this town on fire!

  38. Noah- I think what eddie3 had in mind is a different kind of update: whether Crosby woke up yet, if he did, what time? What did Mario cook for his breakfast, etc :-)

  39. Noah-rury-allahan, 28 on

Oh he brushed his teeth with the Spider-man toothbrush Mario got him last week. My bad.

  40. Boom Boom Bathgate on

Erie Otters? Can we just rename them: Western Pennsylvania Otter and get it over with?

  41. Boom Boom Bathgate on

Never seen such joy over being the 16th best team in the National Hockey League.

  42. Fran – now we know in our hearts that the Playoffs are a bonus for us fans and the development of these players. That said – we root our hearts out for them to win the cup and if they don’t we collapse (emotionally) with broken hearts.

  43. Boom Boom Bathgate on

Winners focus on being #1, and staying there, and are not ecstatic over being in the middle of the pack, instead of being in the lower echelon of the pack. Some perspective here, please.

  44. Wait – ilb – Carp isn’t a Rangers fan!? That is why he always says “your heroes” to us? I have even more respect for him doing all of this for us if he doesn’t root for the boys in blue

  45. Boom Boom – the perspective is that you need a first step on to that path. With this young group of players, this could be a huge part of their development. I don’t think anyone here thinks we are winning the Cup so its okay to just enjoy the moment.

  46. ZzZz NYR ZzZz "Washington Wednesday!! "...says Greg L. on

Can’t stay , must sleeepp more sleep is needed!!!!

    Go Rangersssss!!!!!

  47. Noah-rury-allahan, 28 on

BBB, that’s the point. By getting into the playoffs, we have a chance to become #1 (as do the other 15 playoff teams).

  48. eddie eddie eddie on

ilb – most importantly, how much creamer does the skid put in his coffee…..if i could find that out…i could meet my maker

  49. Good morning fellow Boneheads! Wow! Yesterday is one for the Rangers video tapes that will last a lifetime. HA! I think it might be a good thing that we won’t have home ice advantage in the POs. Agreed? Though, the boys seem to be doing better on Garden ice, of late.

Kudos to Carp for all his work on our behalf. What was supposed to be a side line job is becoming a big part of what he does. It will be just like old times having him traveling with the team. I remember those days so well. Loved them. Great great reports and lots of little extra remarks and side stories. Carp is the best at this….trust me.

Any new news on Tiki, ilb?

  50. eddie eddie eddie on

boom boom….wait about 6 weeks or so and you will see that this ranger team is anything but a middle of the pack group….Prust sayin

  51. Doodie Machetto on

I just want to revisit something, because I am annoying and I love to say “I told you so.”

Cam Ward is overrated. He is one Conn Smythe trophy during his rookie year and nothing else.
That “never lost a game 7” stat is BS. From the AP report on his choke job yesterday:

“Cory Stillman and Chad LaRose scored and Cam Ward stopped 29 shots *but allowed four goals for the Hurricanes, who lost a win-and-you’re-in season finale at home for the second time in four years.* ”

By my count, he’s lost two game sevens.

  52. nice to be in the playoffs. to bad no cally. with drury back and now he can skate and cally they could roll 4 decent lines.

great experience for the players and the fans deserve some playoff hockey.

3 or 4 days to rest up and then ovechkin…..the rangers need to keep it low scoring and grinding and count on the king…………

  53. cam ward is a very good goalie… he played 72 games this year, he is an elite goaltender top 10 for sure…….

  54. Doodie Machetto on

You know what my favorite thing about Drury and McDonagh scoring yesterday is? It officially gave Avery the lowest shooting percentage of any player on the team that isn’t a fringe player (Newbury, Weise, Grachev, etc.).

  55. eddie eddie eddie on

sammy hager talking about his recent autobiography…”if I would have did (sic) this book a few years ago…..”

  56. Good glorious morning all! I’m still reeling over yesterday. To those who missed the warren picnic, big mistake! It was rocking like New Year’s Eve there.
Contrary to what C3 said about me yesterday (bad boy) he now understands why Linda and I were late to warren. You see, our lucky charm Krisy got us an invite from Zucc’s Dad to join him in the MSG green room after the game. So were busy getting autographs and pictures with….Cally, Sauer, Boyle, AA, Hank, Prust, Zucc, Girardi….hmmm, I think I’m forgetting someone, but whatever.
    It was tremendously tremendous :)

As for Tiki: Don’t have any new specific info, but I actually just got off the phone with him! He can’t really talk, but I prattled on to give him the good news about our boys and send all your thoughts and wishes. I’ll update when I get anything new.

    Now I need a nap.

  57. eddie eddie eddie on

doodie – even more amazing is at least avery hits the net……easy saves or not…..how many times did you hear “fill in the blank shoots wide”

  58. Linda Fozzy Linda……and she has all the pics on her camera :( Did I mention I got to put my arm around Hank? Not washing that til the first round is over :)

  59. Good morning, Carp! So excited for beards!!! And the playoffs!!!

Noah, I didn’t win the last beard competition. Wish I had though! This year I have a secret weapon!

Mama, glad to hear Tiki’s doing a little better. Thanks for the updates.

  60. Doodie – You are 100% correct.

You are “annoying and love to say “I told you so.” :P

Just kidding, I couldn’t resist. I’m the same way:

Negative Nancies : I TOLD YOU SO!

    I Love this team!
