I have come to the conclusion that in one way I’m happy the rangers have gotten younger and developing there own but in another way what exactly do we have in our young players. They are nothing special. I watch the good team play in the nhl and it is night and day compare to watching the rangers.

If the rangers made the playoffs they would be one and done. If I was the GM of the rangers the first thing I would do is buy out Drury, trade Gaborik and hope to get a return like the gomez deal. This will give the rangers plenty of cap room to sign there young home grown players. I would not sign anymore 7 mil free agents.

Tik, I have a dialup connection as my backup service…my ISP (Earthlink) allows 10 hours per month of free dialup service if you have a high-speed connection account. That way, if you have a laptop or someother portable device and you can’t find a wireless hot-spot, you can always fall back to dial-up, if absolutely necessary.

I have to say, although 3 out of the 5 teams are out of the playoffs, I don’t feel very comfortable playing ANY of them, considering the “rivalry factor”....
Well the team from last week (FLA, Sens) came back against a team with a little more talent and lost a close one.
The bad karma started with the announcement of the back up goalie starting, continued with the Yahoo article this afternoon and then Cally talking about playoffs. Playoffs! You’re talking about playoffs! playoffs!! They play to the level of their competition – should help if they make POs, which they should.
EZ and Wontski and such floaters. Enuf of those clowns. Did not think Dubi had his best game, was a step slow all night.
I do not blame Boyle – though he should have passed earlier to Cally on the 2 on 1, but Damn Girardi – did that goal deflect off his stick. Kept backing into zone, he is such a weak link that whole game.

By the way, I thought that EC played his worst game of the season. And with him, that’s really hard to do. Wolski is on his third team in three years. Did anyone think he was anything more than part timer? They were very flat and considering the stakes, I just don’t understand that. It is one thing to get beat but quite another when you hardly show up in the biggest game of the year.
The good news is that they still not only control their own playoff destiny, but can still finish as high as sixth place. No one expected that at the start of the year.

I disagree here. Production wasn’t there but the work was well above average. I just can’t stand watching him on a soft line w/ Prospal on the other wing. Either go totally soft by centering it with Christensen or create a functional, working line with Gaborik-Stepan-Avery or something like that.

I agree that this team is average, with an above average work eithic and a great goalie.
Gaborik had afew great chances tonight and didnt bury them, he shot it right at the goalie or his shot was off.
I wouldnt be upset to see half the team turnover in the offseason.
But we still have to make the playoffs, give the kids some experience and a taste of the postseason.

Absolutely, no argument there, but tonight Gaborik was one of the best we had on the ice.
Disclaimer 1: I watched this on delay, my comments were right after I was done, no influence by what Torts said.
Disclaimer 2: I have no particular bias towards Gaborik (my biases are more towards Dubinsky, Boyle and Avery) and I really don’t think he’s a good fit for this roster. But he played really hard today, he worked behind the net and I didn’t see a single shift where he floated around the perimeter. Just because a scorer doesn’t score doesn’t mean his performance was mediocre.

Seriously, what a season Corey Perry is having. His career high was 32 goals and 76 points. This season he has 46 goals, 89 points. Wow!
Unless Stamkos gets on a serious hot streak, Perry is a lock for the Richard.
