  2. I guess the aim is to teach him the same style- drop on your knees early. Except in his case, he might be able to still cover the crossbar. Good scouting, lol.

  3. Tony – Although it sounds Skinny a BMI calculator just told me that his BMI is 24.2 which is on the high range of normal.

  4. Doodie Machetto on

BMI is garbage. Muscle weighs more than fat, so if you are well built, it will say you are obese.

Dubi is 6’1″ 210. His BMI is 27.7. Overweight?

    Byfuglien is 6’5″, 265. BMI 31.4. Obese?

  5. Michael Sauer = 6’3″, 220lbs = HUGE HUMAN

Not nearly as huge as Byfuglien. Hmmmmm

  6. Brodeur is only “overweight” at 6-2, 215lbs. Clearly, a load of tripe then. Coincidentally, a load of tripe is Marty’s preferred breakfast.

  7. billybleedsblue on

LW3H, if you’re getting Fatty’s stats off the net, you know they are anti-padded. Add another 30 lbs. to that.

  8. Brodeur’s fatso stats do not include the fact that he is full of hot air. Add that in.

  9. 6-8? that’s like vanbiesbrouck standing on richter’s shoulders.

    Wait … is that Sally?

    Holy Hell!

    *Good afternoon, Sally!*

    (note the boldface)

  10. So the guy is 0-7-1 in his OHL playoff career (they have ties or shootouts in the OHL playoffs?) But what about his record in Game Seven?

  11. billybleedsblue on

actually, tripe is not what Marty likes for breakfast. He prefers bacon and eggs. Tripe is his preferred second breakfast. Ham sandwich at elevensies…

  12. I work with a guy who standardly eats his lunch that he brought from home (always ham and cheese on ungodly large slices of white bread) at about 9:30AM. He can’t make it to elevensies.

At elevensies he will take down a bag of Funyuns and at Twosies he will consume his lunch which is always either a steak n cheese or an italian combo (again, ungodly large size) and two bags of chips – one bag of wise chips and a bag of munchos (big grab).

    It’s impressive.

  13. billybleedsblue on

Hey guys, what do you think about the league adding refs that would be outside the glass? Or like, maybe even take one of the two off the ice, and then put him with another 2 off the ice looking in?! …just some weird conversation I was having with a Habs fan…

  14. billybleedsblue on

Yea, I agree with that Doodie. I think the idea was that there have been lots of calls missed behind the play? I dunno…

  15. “…posting a 10-33-8 record, along with a 3.33 goals against average, an .893 save percentage and one shutout”

This guy must have tremendous potential because he loses more than 3/4’s of games played! Maybe they want to convert him to a forward since he has no problem getting the puck into the net.

  16. Carp, good idea, think I will :) fyi, the cat sitting neighbors have the mailbox key!

let me say this, at the risk of starting of an old and tried debate, I miss *Sweet 16!*

hey I can go bold too!

  17. Isn’t 6’8″ a little “excessive”?
How is this guy gonna provide…”jam”?

  18. Doodie Machetto on

Staal, they are going to jam him into the net and he will provide complete coverage.

  19. Nice! is that before Sather trades Hank to Toronto… for draftpicks…like he did to Leetch?

  20. Wow, that is a big goalie….what was out last one close to that size…JD?

down side: will we have to listen to Joe Mich talk about how big he is?

hey both Staals are back! the player and bonehead!

  21. If that behind the glass referee displaces Pierre Mcguire, I’d say go for it!

Stool is playing tonight? Good, it isn’t concussion.

  22. Noah-rury-aal-(if Devils make the playoffs)-Noah, 28 on

“Stawl” is how they say his name on the Jersey Shore.

  23. well, i feel pretty good now

they read my email on Power Play Live on NHL Network

Espo went off on me…a bit but announcer wasn’t too bad
got ’em talking about my comments for some time.
send the text in next comment.

  24. sorry but my paisano is wrong!

i’m glad to hear that more people are getting tired
of having Crosby shoved down our collective throats
    by the NHL.

surprisingly, the league still hasn’t learned that it needs
to create multiple stars rather than focus on 1
    and occasionally 2 with Ovechkin

but Phil cannot deny all the immature actions of
Crosby from multiple dives that are not called throughout
his career to constant whining when the calls — real or imagined —
    do not go his way.

and don’t forget the classless act of NOT shaking hands
    following the Winter Classic game.

finally, concussions were barely discussed until Crosby
was diagnosed and his occurred via an accidental hit
during the Winter Classic game and then he went another day
and played another game before he was taken out.
his case is MUCH different than players who are victims of

    Hserfer! Hserfer! Hserfer!

    5f! 5f! 5f!

  26. this guy played on an absolutely horrible team in the QMJHL, a very offensive league to begin with. Chances are he never makes the NHL anyway, but his W-L record is not important…

  27. thanks Mannyfried

    a female saying she’s a Rangers fan
defended cindy as a star that the nhl should promote

as i said, in a follow up email
nothing wrong with promoting him and Ovi as stars.
yes, they are some of the top players in the league despite
    how we feel about them
but there are numerous other players out there
    who should get that push

when you think of other sports, more than one or two top players
are recalled. the nhl still doesn’t do a good job of correcting that.

  28. jpg's sister on

hey, jpg maybe their is a job for me in the league office promoting other NHL Players :)

Hank, A Sedin, Teemu Selanne for still playing, Patrick Kane?

  29. Jpg- perhaps NHL needs to recognize that being a great player isn’t sufficient to represent the face of the league. And should include talk more about other players who deserve to be mentioned and promoted for what they do not only on the ice, but off the ice. This, perhaps, is the only major sport that have a lot of players to be proud about, with some rare exceptions.

  30. billybleedsblue on

jpg, good job getting that read on that show. about time somebody said it!

jpg sister, nice link, thanks! “he’s a little sensitive…” ahhaha, it’s ok Hank. Now, go win the cup please!

  31. ORR!! – I just went into my bathroom and said “Prust” into the mirror 3 times and he appeared and promptly punched me in the face. He excalimed, “I got a game to play man!” and disapeared.

  32. Manny, that’s weird. I said “Prust”, three times in my mirror, and we shared some hot chocolate, and he told me aboot Michelle Tratchenburg’s orgasmic moans. I told him it should be his official goal song, but he said his girlfriend wouldn’t appreciated it.

    Yay! Almost Go Time!

  33. ilb, right now or in general? I’m working on a paper that’s due today, but was at my field placement all day helping a client move. I am tired. I cut back so now I just have school, field, and one job. Almost done though!

  34. Miked- yup, but he does it with size. My sense is that they feel they can swing him to the Flyers for Claude Giroux at some point next season. He combines two things the Flyers are always looking for- the goaltender and size. :-)

  35. Sally
my sis must have jumped off the net.
yes, the racoon basically took a nap and left.
    hasn’t returned (crossing fingers!!!)

    don’t worry, it’s just pain.

  36. Wicky (trying to go as fast as ILB on this thing) on

So according to bmi I am 40lbs over weight for a 6 footer.

Anyone have a pic of Prust’s chick?

Speaking of prust, you shouldn’t knock ke$ha, he rocks tik tok before games…….you don’t want to anger the prust!

    Hi Sally!

  37. Wicky (trying to go as fast as ILB on this thing) on

Speaking of cally, after listening to his interviews, who besides me thinks he moonlights as an auctioneer?
