The better team won tonight and the Rangers should count themselves lucky to gain a point. They basically showed up for about 15 of the 65 minutes of play.
I’m clearly not an Avery fan, but OMG, Christensen’s lack of spunk equates to that of a sickly 95 year old man. I don’t care if occasionally he and Gaborik appear to have chemistry – farm this POS out please!

NYR.FAN: Yes, but you can map out his inconsistency: He plays well for a game or maybe a game and 1/2 and then sucks for 5. What’s the point? If he was 22 and still finding his way, sure, cut him some slack. But he’s 27 and on his 4th NHL team and acquired by the Rangers via the waiver wire. There’s ZERO reason to believe what you see isn’t what you’ll get. So stop hoping you’ll see what you aren’t getting.

EC sucked tonight, but so did most of the rest of the team…..why is he the scapegoat? He didn’t lose his man on his defensive coverage.
that was one ugly ass game heads. last 2 games have been pretty lousy. not playing a full 60 and this is what happens. no way should a team fighting for playoffs have to go to a shootout with th sens. they have 1 player. spezza. thats it. and a mr potato head face goalie. cmon!! is anyone else just watching the game and thinking about all the things they have to do tommorow instead of getting into it? i was. i really couldnt get into that until late 3rd period. and one more thing, why on earth is Ec or wuskki?\ shooting before our 7.5 mill sniper? isnt he supposed to be a freakin goal scorer??? anyway, doesnt matter. shouldnt have made it that far to begin with. but we will make playoffs without teh shootout anymore!! bye zucc, u were a nice little novelty for awhile
I will say this: If the Rangers show up against Boston like they did tonight and to a lesser extent the Panthers (cuz that effort wasn`t exactlly overwhelming) they will get their asses kicked.
Two completely underwhelming games in a row from the Rangers…lucky to have grabbed 3 out of 4 points.
They better find that gear they were in just a few games ago.
Hate to think the obvious…are they looking ahead of themselves in the standings and forgetting that the playoffs are still up for grabs?

But, on the bright side, the Habs won’t be able to look one another in the eye after the shameful no-show in Boston.
The Bruins, on the other hand, now have a stranglehold on their division and are lovin’ life again. They might still be drunk come Saturday afternoon.

Jimbo: EC isn`t the scapegoat, but I`m sick of watching him float 4 out of 5 games. I get why Tortorella wants to dress him – there`s no one in the lineup capable of centering Gaborik and EC truly comes the closest, when he`s on his game, which is like 20% of the time.
It annoys me to see Tortorella shorten his bench because a player or 2 isn`t working and tonight`s game was the 2nd time in 3 games (Pitts being the other) where he dropped to 3 lines because EC was disinterested.
It`s time for the Rangers to accept EC for what he is: A player with considerable more talent than heart, but not enough talent to justify the patience.

Blago, trust me…I’m not as bummed as I sound. But these last two games against “inferior” opponents were painful to watch. Especially after their success against “superior” teams.

I hear you, Jim – but he’s on the team now, and as you said, nobody else does a better job than he does on his line, when he decides to play – and despite the last few games, he’s usually good in the shootout.
If we can get someone better than him next season, fine – but while he’s with the team, I think he gets singled out an awful lot for bad games, when all the players are playing poorly.

Gabby wasn’t in the shootout because he’s not a good shootout player, for whatever reason. It’s like Jagr – he wasn’t worth a damn in the shootout, either…
Gaborik is not great in the shootout. But he’s no worse than Callahan.
That was an unintended hat-trick…..OK, I’ll shut up now!
At least Jags could come up with a shootout goal every now and then. Butt-Chin can’t score at all.
Seems like the team has a real problem with this Anderson guy – he’s beat them 3 out of 4 times this year.
