Here’s the question for the NNs (Negative Nancys): Wouldn’t you rather be where the Rangers are right now, in a playoff spot with teams chasing them (lousy teams, I might add) than where they were last year … which is to say, needing to go 7-1-1 just to make the last game of the season matter?
Looks like Sean Avery and Steve Eminger will be prucha’d. Erik Christensen is de-prucha’d, and will start with Marian Gaborik and Vinny Prospal, in another desperate attempt to get Gaborik going. He and Christensen (and Prospal) have worked as linemates at times before, and they seem comfortable together, and while that line has zero grit, it can’t be any worse defensively than when Avery was on it.
And though I am not one of those who are high on Avery … I thought in the past that he has been a difference-maker at times, but not much this year … I still believe they will need his grit and agitation down the homestretch. More than Christensen.

After tonight, we in the East turn our clocks ahead and lose an hour of sleep *(I never lose an hour of sleep; I just sleep later; in fact I may sleep two hours later and actually gain an hour of sleep), and the Rangers will have just 12 left, including home games against the Islanders and Canadiens next week. That’s a reason why I say it will be extraordinarily difficult and near impossible for us to win the Cup again. A lot of hockey is luck, and we have the worst luck. We even lost our backup due to a freak accident in practice. I should be appreciative we’ve (knock on wood) never lost Henrik in his tenure. However, he suffers from migraines, which could be considered bad luck.

Great point well-deserved, well-earned. Dubisnky did everything right on that last offensive possession EXCEPT backhanding the puck at towards the net at the end.
