POST-GAME QUOTES

John Tortorella on today’s game… “We defended, we had problems with their speed early on but then we finally got our forecheck going.  They sit back, watch it, dump it in – we knew how they were going to play.  We got around the puck as the game went on.  We had some chances, didn’t score right to the bitter end.

Henrik Lundqvist on Bryan McCabe… “He looks great.  It is not easy to come in; he looked very comfortable out there.  His shot is very good.  He finds ways to get the puck through a lot, which is huge.  Just having a veteran out there makes the young guys feel more comfortable.”

  1. Carp, I listened right now to the press conference of Tortorella and I have to say it is just unprofessional..I understand that he is frustrated after such a loss but you have to behave different in front of the press.. I once in a while regret you guys from the press with that kind of coach..As good as he mabe is as coach you have to respect the audience as well as the fans want to have some information..

But we have to deal with the same problem over here in Munich with the coch Louis van Gaal..he is the same than Torts, its seems he´s hating the press and the public and after a such dissapointing performance like the one in the top match up aginst Dortmund, he doesnt like to give even any interview to the press..

But as I said even as a good coach you need to be a good communicator and you guys sitting probably in the same boat trying to sell the sport…!!!

  2. as stated earlier no help to msg and the baffon announcers the girardi penalty on the thug downie was not a penalty and was not even much of a hit.

nhl officials suck. 3 minutes into the 3rd period or so, a hit that was no big deal, did not impede or affect the game in any way and they call a phantom penalty……….

    horrible…………

  3. LinCalPrustBoylahan on

It took Torts 2/3 of the season to finally release his feelings on the officiating. Now he’ll get fined or suspended for what he said, but it’s good he got it out there.

Now, as for the team… someone needs to bury those wide open net chances!

  4. then you need to eat before 6pm otherwise you get overweight :) and overweight cause high blood pressure that cause some other bad….at least you are not as fit as a Ranger player :)

  5. Carp you are not giving not a good examples with your pretzels..remember it was kids day at the Garden…

I am sorry but its so early here in Europe so you have to deal with my gibbrish !!!

  6. Chi just re-signed Seabrook for 5 yrs, $29mill, cap hit of $5.8

wow, that means almost certainly that Campbell or Hjalmorsson are on their way out eventually

Wojtek Wolski on Rangers effort: “We’ve played hard as of late but we came out flat and it showed.

Erik Christensen on Rangers effort: “We just weren’t sharp.

sorry carp, just thought these were 2 interesting quotes

  8. Good post game stuff. They tried to get some post game quotes from Stepan but apparently Trautwig was tickling him and he was laughing too hard to be interviewed.

  9. Orr, it’s a guilty pleasure, after 10 PM. I like to indulge in fried Dim Sum and Cantonese BBQ.

  10. That what I said early in the morning but nobody is listening to me…
Players missed their natural afternoon nap to soak up the energy, so they weren´t sharp :)

  11. Shoryuken on Glen Sather on

Apparently being amused by Torts’ cursing means you don’t care about the team and are disloyal to NY.

Makes sense if you don’t think about it. At all.

You are lucky, because Carp has given you reprieve after reprieve in the past. Just stop the crap man. There’s no need.

    Carp

Can you give us any insight as to how the NY media feel about these kinds of pressers from Torts? He does it from time to time after a frustrating loss. I imagine it must be frustrating for you guys when he gives one word answers to perfectly reasonable questions. Just wondering if anyone’s patience is running thin.

For the record, I like it as a fan, I think it shows passion.

  13. Okay, I have to post this, just for entertainment purposes.

    http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/3435825/Ashley-Cole-shoots-fan.html

Ashley Cole shot a fan accidentally. Funny stuff. Gist of it is below.

“The News of the World reports that Cole was messing around with the weapon in the dressing room when he inadvertently shot Tom Cowan, a sports science student on work placement with Chelsea.

Cole apparently did not know the gun was loaded and was just five feet away from the 21-year-old when it went off.

One eyewitness said it left the victim “in agony” and “bleeding profusely”.

The club’s medical staff treated him and *he was given two days off*.”

  14. Charlie, if you just watched the game on point it was 5-1 shots in favour of Tampa with one minute remaining in the first period..that shows that neither of that team played with an high intensity level :)

But on the other side you shouldn´t take anything as serious what I am saying right now :)

  15. 4generations 4 cups on

Hey Carpy, do you think that Torts was angry about the officiating? Hahaha. I don’t understand all the phantom calls against our boys, its just horse(carcillo). McCabe a good pickup, anyone else on the way you think?
