yes but we played much harder in the first than in games past. we gota goal by driving the net. looks liek weve been doing that little bit more recently. sometimes though it leaves us open to odd man rushes because we get 3 guys way too deep sometimes. i dont mind getting perimeter shots because they create rebounds sometimes. its just that we need guys crashing the net more and they arent in great posistions to get rebounds alot.

Rangers don’t have the offense to compete with the big boys. Philly isn’t playing that well, but there is just no real offensive threat besides Dubinsky. Gaborik is often a non-factor, and today he;s gone completely.
WALLQVIST showed up against the Devils and our boys couldn’t manage 1 measly goal to earn at least a point.
Rangers are zeroing in on another 9th place finish.
What is with him and the soft goals this year?

They actually created so many opportunities offensively today that they had to score on an open net. Wolski’s goal was one earned with hard effort and follow-through.

The goal that effed us was the goal he let up after he was OBVIOUSLY POed at the defense for not helping him out at ALL on the 2nd goal. He needs to grow up and handle his emotions like a man instead of getting so personal when you let up a goal. Forget about it and go play the game you’re good at. The best goalies have the worst memories.

Well, the biggest reason the Rangers were able to sign Gaborik in the first place is most teams were leery of how brittle he is – he got hurt at the Olympics last year and wasn’t the same player when he came back as he had been up to then and then this year it sure looks like he’s been playing hurt all season long (which would explain his lousy season).
If indeed he has been playing hurt a lot, then IMO, shame on the Rangers – keep him off the ice until he’s 100% healthy.
So much for Brayden Schenn – now it’s back to plan B (Brad Richards). Or is that Sather’s plan A?

the Rangers dominated the period (and all other 3rd periods this season) b/c the Flyers had a 2 goal lead and changed their gameplan. It has nothing to do with effort, its all about the other team not taking chances and protecting the lead.

3/4 of the season over and Torts still doesn’t have 3 or 4 set lines. Gabby just not doing it for us. We played better as a team with him out of the line-up. Not relying on him made us suck it up and play as a team. Still need one big defenseman who could clear the goal crease and take shots from the point and stick with the youth. Still DZ is a total waste. How many games have we won with him in and Eminger out.

what some of us have said all along, that they will play better as a team without gaborik. the shame is that they didn’t trade him while they had the chance to get some young prospects for him. he pulled this stuff every year in Minny, where he goes out injured and disappears when the trade deadline comes up.
