About Author

  1. How many games this season we lost by 1 goal?! We just simple need a one strong, power SCORER, Jagr/Nash/Iginla type. A REAL game changer, kind of unstoppable in decisive games, able time to time individually penetrate blue line and create a havoc in offensive zone by possessing puck and score indeed. Gabby could be an icing on a cake in a team and this team could absolutely do the rest – grind, fight, hold 1 goal difference, etc. Just don’t ask me where to go to meet this guy …

  2. Not much more exciting … but a lot more scoring: 92-48.

4ever, those guys are few and far between … and expensive. Really, those three albatross contracts — two of which are gone, one still here — has prevented the Rangers from having even a shot at getting one. And the draft record.

  3. The snoozefests are back in NJ. 15 lousy shots? Than ks for coming Rangers. Arrive home safely.

  4. Hey, FIRED OLGA! So pathetic is your limited yip. You are just boring, genderless, mule-like, with a split personality, hopeless monotone as always, brain impotent, with occasional, very limited thoughts and words diarrhea. Yawn. Good night.

  5. Olga Folkyerself on

It’s just like jabbing a stick at a badger in a cage. All he can do is snarl…

  6. Question for you guys: Other than attempting to do a review of this game, is there any reason whatsoever I’d want to stay up and watch it? Seriously? Did anything noteworthy happen?

  7. Olga Folkyerself on

Carp, you were right on with the caffeine and no-doz reference. I wouldn’t watch it again if I was paid to…

  8. talk about blowing a chance. Buffalo gets shut out 2 games in a row at home vs teams they should beat. Regier better get someone to start his car. they hate him. the new owner will be firing him for sure

  9. Watching (and freaking myself out in doing so) Ghost Adventure. They’re at this place in CA called Wolfe Manor, that was a family home and sanitorum where a lot of people died. I suggest we lock the team in there for the night. it would scare the holy hell out of them into playing better.

  10. Carp, seriously, the most noteworthy thing about the game was that the Rangers didn’t spend nearly enough time in the Devils zone and Lundqvust was brilliant after a so-so effort last night, IMO. I also thought it was Marc Staal’s worst game of the season. Plenty of mistakes to count by him tonight.

  11. No point in watching it, Carp – unless you want to hear Sam & Joe constantly telling everyone how great Kovalchuk is – and how Lemaire is a genius….

As far as the Rangers PLAY goes – there wasn’t much – don’t waste your time.

  12. Rangers looked VERY tired – and there was no “zip” in their play – and a few times, I thought that maybe a bit of “Avery-baiting” might have awakened the team a bit, but nobody stepped up to do it…maybe Aves didn’t want to tussle with Kovy or Clarkson, his usual targets…

  13. billybleedsblue on

Mickey, that’s fairly sadistic of you. You can forget ever winning any games in CA after that. They probably wouldn’t step back into that state again! Gosh you’re a dark individual!

  14. Avery was a non-factor…He wasn’t a storyline at all tonight…I think he needs to be against the Debs

  15. shocking inside the rangers need 1 mega stud scorer. wow what a astute comment, so does about 24 teams.

the rangers looked tired and slow especially staal. that is the worst I have seen staal play in a long long time. to bad henrk played well…

that is the slowest and weakest game the rangers played in quite a while..

the 3 to 2 loss in ny to the debbies a while ago the rangers outplayed the debbies but tonight they got nothing going.

avery misses the net 50% of the time if not more. yep he is a hard worker etc but the guy has 2 goals…………

  16. billy, I was half-kidding. :)

It would make for one interesting show, that’s for sure. Zak, Nick and Aaron lead the Rangers into there for the night. Which Ranger would run screaming like a little girl? Which Ranger would stand there with the EMF equipment and ask the spirits to talk to him, to touch him, to show themselves? Which Ranger would curl into the fetal postiion and not move the rest of the night?

  17. billybleedsblue on

well, for one, Drury wouldn’t be part of it. He’d be injured or scratched that night. Dubinsky would probably be all “scrappy” with the spirits…Gaborik would be non-existent…Avery would like the idea that he’s not the only one to “hear voices” anymore, and Callahan would score at least 1 point.

  18. lol, billy. I predict either Gilroy or EC would be the ones screaming like girls. Boyle and Prust would be the ones running the equipment. As for the fetal position, I’m not sure…

  19. You know whats even more pathetic than this game is watching you guys (you know who you are) bickering at each other. I thought you were grown people…what’s with the hostility?

Drop this bullish!t and shake hands!

  20. Olga Folkyerself on

If the little pecker-head would just mind his own business, I wouldn’t even bother. But once he gets all up in my face, I just respond to aggravate him as much as I possibly can…

  21. to top this night off, James Dolan, the genius of all geniuses, is about to trade the entire Knicks roster for Carmelo. YAY. we are so lucky to have such a fabulous owner. shoot me now please.

  22. Carp, I can do your review for you…

    1) Lemaire has the Dev.zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

    2) Worst game of the year for Staal

    3) Torts borrowed the Renney line generator again

    4) Boy, those Devils sure. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

    5)Chico never shuts up. Ever.

    6) Kovalchuk finally decided to play after taking half a season off

    7) Gaboirk tried. Really really hard, Again.

    8) Devils got away with a lot of inter…zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

    9) Rangers were a tired team tonight

    10) Prust’s game is really in a funk right now and it has to do with his injuries.

    11) Back on the horse for the Flyers for a Sunday matinee

Now you can sleep without watching the game :)

  23. looks like it….. Felton+Chandler+Gallinari+Curry+1st Round Pick for Melo and Billups and a bunch of Nuggets bench players who average 2 points per game. if this deal goes through, i may very well quit watching basketball. this is simply absurd. how dumb can one be?

  24. Olga Folkyerself on

“Drop this bullish!t and shake hands!”

You want me to shake hands with someone that handles bull carcillo? Ewwww.

Only matadors should have to put up with a lot of bull sh!t.

  25. billybleedsblue on

The only thing stupider than the Knicks trading for Carmello is talking about it here. They should stick with what they got, you know, but, elsewhere…

  26. Cut it out! Cut it out! Cut it out! The hell’s the matter with you? Stupid! We’re all very different people. We’re not Watusi. We’re not Spartans. We’re Americans, with a capital ‘A’, huh? You know what that means? Do ya? That means that our forefathers were kicked out of every decent country in the world. We are the wretched refuse. We’re the underdog. We’re mutts!

  27. Olga Folkyerself on

Almost all my favorite movies are comedies. I can’t possibly name them all. Stripes is right up there though…

  28. Olga Folkyerself on

Can’t stand Adam Sandler. He’s played a moron so many times, I don’t think he’s acting. Same with Will Ferrell.

    Gazongas? Now that’s Okay!

  29. I figured. Maybe I’ll just sneak into it, and listen to music, and wait for any good scenes.

Sandler is boring. His last decent movie was Anger Management, and Mr. Deeds. Nothing special, but they’re better than the sh*t he’s been doing.

I’ve never found Will Ferrell funny. He’s just annoying. He only has two good movies.

  30. The game is on MSG again… Any willing masochist still around? :)

Devils sure grab and hold a lot w/o being called for penalty

RE: Sandler – you’ve seem one of his movies you’ve seen them all… though, Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore are two of my all time favorite Sandler movies

  31. Olga Folkyerself on

CCCP- I’d rather shave my head with a cheese grater while chewing on tin foil then watch that again…

  32. not politcally correct but i read somewhere that fighting on the internet is like being in the special olympics..if u dont know the saying look it up… kinda funny
i thought The Waterboy was a pretty funny Sandler movie..
only a one goal game against the trap masters after a tough game last night… not something to jump of a bridge over….

  33. Oh and how could I forget “The Waterboy”!! best Sandler movie ever! lol

    Medulla oblongata!!

Ouch Olga… that sound like a painful experience …but then again it most likely less painful than watching this game

  34. You know…now that I think about it Sandler’s movies are not that bad lol

Big daddy was awesome and Zohan was mad funny too! Funny people was a pretty decent movie as well…

Little Nicky was kind of retarded but great lol

  35. Olga Folkyerself on

Oh, Please. Adam Sandler is not funny. Stupid is not necessarily funny. Sometimes it’s just stupid.

    George Carlin was funny.
    Rodney Dangerfield was funny.
    Sam Kinison was funny.
    Monty Python was funny.
    Lewis Black is funny.
    Jon Stewart is funny.

I could go on and on. Don’t insult these comedians by calling Adam Sandler funny.

  36. I interrupt this comedy/Adam Sandler session to say this: Doogie Howser is on my tv! I loved this show when it was first on

  37. billybleedsblue on

Hahaha, what’s Torts’ equivalent to “jumping the shark?”

    No, there isn’t a punchline…yet. Please help.

  38. Bill Murray is NOT funnier than any of the people Olga listed! Not even close!

Sandler is funny in a retarded kind of way…

  39. You want funny? Jackie Mason is funny. Don Rickles was funny. Pat Cooper was funny. Foxworthy is funny. Richard Neri was funny. Jackie Gleason was funny. Tim Conway is funny. THEY were the funny ones that will always be remembered.

  40. Adam Sandler is too old to play the same character he plays in every movie he’s ever done anymore.

  41. Czechthemout!!! on

When you see big trades like this getting done, why is it far fetched to think that the Kings would not pay up with a Dustin Brown and. Brayden Schenn for Gaborik and someone like Grachev?

  42. Dustin Brown fits in on our team even if he doesn’t have the same scoring potential as Gaborik and Gaborik would go with Kopitar. If we can get Brayden Schenn this is a done deal as far as I’m concerned.

  43. Craig: they were ready to pony up for Kovalchuk and wanted Gaborik when we got him in 2009.

They don’t care about his cap hit and we’d be taking Dustin Brown back.

  44. I still say its far-fetched they’re going to unload their captain… Sure, teams do it… but, eh… I don’t know. Would I do Grachev & Gaborik for Brown and Schenn…. yes… in a heartbeat. Brown is a very similar player to dubinsky and fits right in w/ our style…

  45. Remember Two Things on

Kings challenge is scoring. Need finishers to play with Kopitar. Gabby would be great fit. Would they give up their Capt and best 2 way forward? I hope, but probably not. I would take shenn and one of those top 4 Dman and find a way to make sal cap work and throw girardi in the mix.

Shatty and Stewart were a fire sale. Both have promise and some downside as well. Stewart could have been special here with right mentors (cally). Shatty may be a more talented mdz. We have struggling offensive minded bu dmen, don’t need another.

  46. I wonder if Wolski will still be a Ranger by the deadline too… He been playing on the 4th line and is poor in his own end.

  47. Obviously getting Brown and Schenn for Gaborik and Grachev would be an absolute steal for us simply b/c Schenn is going to be one of the best centers in the game in the next 2-3 years.

The problem with your proposal is the Kings would never ever in a million years make that move.

  48. From what I’ve seen the devils have a better shot at making the playoffs than the rangers. It’s sickening but if lemaire was the coach from the start of the season the devils once again would be winning the division. it’s the same old garbage for the rangers. The rangers either barely make it in the playoffs and get knocked out in the first round or they barely miss the playoffs. The rangers front office isn’t good enough to find diamonds in the ruff when drafting so the rangers will never draft any great players unless there picking in the top 3.
