About Author

  1. One of my many grievances….

Not having flavored eggnog every time I go to the store. I always have to travel to get it. Bastards! I have to take the bus, and smell the disgusting combination of Curve perfume, Mariah Carey perfume, and Axe body spray, and other crap, and it gives me a headache.

Why don’t I take a cab, you ask? Because cab drivers can’t drive, and I have less of a chance of dying if I get into an accident in a bus, but more of a chance to have the stinky perfume people on top of me if the bus flips over.

  2. tr, think it was mentioned yesterday …

let’s not forget that Boogaard suffered a concussion last season (I believe it was in the DJ King fight, his last of the season; and Darren Pang brought it up on July 1 when the Rangers signed Boogaard). I thought immediately after he caught that Carkner punch that he had another one; that it looked like more than a broken nose. He was stunned. I think once you get multiple concussions in a short period of time, it’d have to be a while before you could fight again, right? Though I remember Jeff Beukeboom fighting shortly after returning from the Matt Johnson concussion that ultimately ended his career.

  3. Izzy Mandlebaum on

Devils fired McLean? Why now? They can’t fall any farther than last place.

I just loved saying that. :)

  4. It’s hard to say how many times Boogaard has been concussed, if thats a word I’m not sure. He’s certainly taken a lot of blows to the noggin over the years. He should not fight for a while, if he has a concussion. Not ever some of the experts say. Don Cherry disagrees with all experts, saying he’s a good Canadian boy , put him back in he’ll be alright. I think if I were the Boogy man I would have to rethink my career options. Thats assuming he has a concussion, he may not, Hopefully its just a headache.

  5. Orr…., what I hate is if I happen to get a seat on the bus the fattest person on the planet sits next to me….together with the perfumes…..who can breathe?

  6. Mao_Just Mao this time_ on

    1. can’t stand the whole ‘folkyerselfs’ one man attempted comedic thingy he does…not at all funny…just annoying and takes up comment space.

    2. as you already know..I HATE NEGATIVITY…it has reached a fever pitch on these here internets…people are too short term in thought…you need to let things marinate. It has become painful to join in on the blog during a game. If they make one mistake or look bad for a few seconds it is the end of the world! I realize if I can’t take the negativity I have the option not to read. I have taken that option even as I always read Carp’s posts. I will say this again: We are lucky to have such a fantastic and intuitive writer here with us.

    3. Sam (the prior writer): If you call what he did writing, Edgar Allan Poe would come up from his grave and rip your moustaches off. THAT IS ALL!

    4. The people I dislike the most are those in the financial/trading community. Talk about real dumb smart people? I know lots of ’em too unfortunately.

    5. The IT department here: for leaving that idiotic Buffalo Sabres post on the facebook widget here.
5.b. The IT department here: for taking nearly 3 weeks to adjust the comments section. You kidding me right? This page is insanely simple….any experienced person would have done it in a flash.
5.c. The IT deparment here: For not using DISQUS and giving us avatars in the comments section.
5.d. The IT department here: for reasons unbeknownst to anyone having to scroll down for the most recent comment instead of having it up top.

    6. the people that were saying Biron had to be in over Hank.
6a. the people who continually dissed Callie and Dubi and always underrating our homegrown players (they aint dissing them anymore..but they were at start of season)

    7. I really try not to air grievances often or be negative. I think you have seen that from me over time. So with that in mind, I give a special tip of the hat to my fave peeps: Greg, Linda, ilb, tiki, blogmama. You guys are great!

Lastly, I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas…anyone who is going through tough times or family health issues i want to give you a special shout. If there is one main thing that I love about this blog, it is how we rally around one another. We also don’t act like trolls similar to a yahoo board. We are united as people, and our team has brought us here. That is good stuff.

Thanx to Carp for being the blogfather of all NYR blogs.

  7. I continue to smile from ear to ear seeing what’s happening to our rivals across the Hudson. It simply warms the cockles of my heart to peruse the NHL Standings page and see New Jersey dead last. It just couldn’t happen to a better organization and I will continue to take delight as yet another coaching change blows up in their faces.

  8. Mao_Just Mao this time_ on

grievance part 2: MTV for ruining our children with their inane programming and people who say ‘between you and i’ because they think it sounds good…lol

  9. Mao, I agree with you on Olga, and his imaginary friends. I wonder if anyone actually wastes time to read all of the crap he’s typing.

    And MTV sucks.

Another grievance I alluded to the other day is all these supermodels getting pregnant. It’s mind blowing. They’re all dropping like leaves in Fall.

  10. Izzy Mandlebaum on

Trottier was worse. He was a Rangers coach. Bad for the Rangers is worse than bad for the Devils.

  11. ddebened bows before the sequined cape, leather wearing Great Carpini on

Mao between you and i… avatars? we don’t need no stinkin avatars!

Stand clear of the aluminum Festivus pole with the Lightning around.

  12. grievance (no offense Carp): ddeb’s giving me the mental image of Carp dressed in a sequined cape and leather

  13. ddebened bows before the sequined cape, leather wearing Great Carpini on

Rex Ryan asked that we wait for him before any feats of strength

  14. Izzy Mandlebaum on

Is that the end of Airing of Grievances? On to the feets of strength!

    Here, smell these feet…

  15. Mao_Just Mao this time_ on

Orr, I pray that no one reads them…lol ..I knew i wasn;t the only one annoyed by that…lol …glad u mentioned….merry christmas, bro!

  16. Noah-allahan, 28 on

Carp…will you be at MSG tonight? Would love to meet you after accidentally snubbing you in the street a couple months ago!

  17. Tiki - I heart Brett Favre on

grievance: Orr watching other NY teams knowing he will cause them to lose.
grievance:kevin garnett insulting and mocking those with cancer, then lying man-to-man right to the face of a man that recently suffered from cancer.
grievance: wicky and ilb having to work so much and occasionally miss games, especially the wickster.
grievance: linda having to work the past several months in a job she cant stand
    grievance: Mama getting laid off
grievance: not having enough room to get a thousand more puppies
    grievance: letting Steve Spagnuolo go
    grievance: letting Jaromir go
    grievance: people who mistreat animals

  18. I didn’t watch the last Knicks and Jets games, and they won. I did screw the Giants over though. But, how am I supposed to know you like the Jets *and* Giants.

Has anyone seen “The Social Network”? I know there’s a lot of Facebook freaks here :P

You should check it out. Interesting story. The creator of Facebook is a total bouchebag loser. I don’t want to give away any details just in case nobody has seen it. Really good movie.

Aside from Justin Timberlake, who’s very presence annoys the carcillo out of me.

  19. Tiki - I heart Brett Favre on

grievance: that most Yankees fans and Yankees “fans” are idiots and not a bit like the Rangers fans that occupy this blog.

  20. Tiki - I heart Brett Favre on

We’re okay, Orr. Maybe in the future, you might consider not watching any of the other ny teams. :) I wonder, did you watch the Red Bull MLS playoff game, too?

grievance: the tragic family loss of our fozzy
grievance: the tragic loss of jpg’s puppy and Orr’s puppy
grievance: gift of gab getting married….i was hoping to marry gab someday ;)

  21. another grievance… people who ask u to move to anothe table at an airport restaurant so all 9 of them can sit together. so rude! go sit in the food court if u wanna sit together u jackwagons!! also the price of airport food is ridiculous!

devils fired maclean? i wanna laugh, but 2 days before xmas?! lou, u sir, are a first rate jackwagon for doing that

  22. lmao at those funny names! i didn’t think they were all real so i googled them and they are real!! Rusty Kuntz is my favorite!

  23. Cally's Broken Hand Del Headzo on

I have a lot of problems with you people….uh I just lost my train of thought….must have been the tinsel.

Anyway – I won’t be near a computer tonight so just wanted to wish you Boneheads a happy festivus, & a Merry Christmas. May u all find a Sather firing under your pole saturday morning.

  24. Grievance… Mike Milbury
Grievance…play by play guys that are just to homie
Grievance…people that do stupid stuff then when they get caught they won’t admit to it. I have always believed when your an adult you take your sh#t and move on.
Grievance…people that know you one day and not the next. Folks suffering from dementia are off the hook on this one.
Grievance… People that are holy-er than thou religous, that hide behind the cross in their everyday life, but you know them for they really are and its far from christian.
That is a few I don’t want to get to worked up here.

  25. Izzy, nobody told me, it was bolted down!

Noah, it’s looking bleak on me making it to MSG tonight. Doubtful at best.

That’s why Rex chose football, as opposed to baseball or some other sport. And why he goes for it on fourth and a foot.

  26. So Carp, do I understand this right. You can go cover the games but you don’t ?
Do you have another sport to cover or is it because it’s Feativus ?

  27. so the Devils fired MacLean… HAHA!! it took them this long?!

Lou L is back behind the bench! I think its a good thing because now they might actually start winning games and move up in the standings and avoid high draft pick! GO LOU!!

  28. Yeah, it’s Lemaire.

I was not scheduled to cover the game tonight because of other stories I’m working on, so I thought I might be able to get there anyway, just to blog … but it’s doubtful at this point. Normally I’d be in NYC by now, and Tortorella does his thing at 5, so there’s not a chance I can get there for that.

  29. sorry i meant Jacques Lemaire

this makes it even stranger now since Lemaire quit on this team at the end of last season! Nothing warms my heart more than watching Debbies crumble!

  30. anybody know the lines for tonight??

    tall guy-average guy-tall guy
    tall guy-tall guy-average guy
    average guy-very tall guy-tall guy
    average guy-tall guy-smurf

  31. According to Brooksie the lines for tonite are as follows;
    Fedo, Stepon,Dubie
    Aves, Artie, Drury
    Frolic, Boyle, Prust
    White, Christie, Zucci, the Smurf
    Very interesting Gertrude.

  32. Tiki - I heart Brett Favre on

oops….grievance: sally missing lots of rangers games and not being here as much because she’s working on being a huge success with grad school and 2 jobs, and b/c she’s found herself a Jaromir.

Definition of Jaromir: perfect guy with great looks, worldly knowledge, perfect ass, great hair, hockey lover

Great to have you with us tonight, SALLY!!!!!!! :) It’s a Festivus Miracle!!!!

  33. OK all, I gotta go. Mama’s mama has arrived in town. Don’t know if I’ll be around later, so if not….grrrrrr, but LGR!!!!!!

  34. Grievances: Sports teams with dumb names that are either not plural of anything (Lightning, Thunder, Heat, Liberty,Whale), or are not even nouns but adjectives (Wild)… wild what?

People- they’re the worst. People who say “expresso” or “let me axe you a question”. People who are close talkers, low talkers, high talkers, eat their peas one at a time, are bad breaker uppers. And anybody who ever had a pony when they were a kid.

  35. Tiki - I heart Brett Favre on

I always wanted a Pony! I like Ponies! I like Pink! I like Pink Ponies! Are there any pink ponies?

  36. AGrossRecord #NYRangers lines: Dubinsky-Stepan-Zuccarello, Frolov-Anisimov-Drury-Fedotenko-Boyle-Prust, Avery-Christensen-White.

MZA is NOT on 4th line. Repeat NOT on 4th line! YAY!

  37. Linda CalPrustBoylahan on

bravo to whoever mentioned the holier than thou church goers ever wednesday and sunday, then cheat on their spouses, beat their kids and are generally rotten to everyone else, but INSIST on telling you they are ‘good Christian people’….yea, ok

LMAO @ your grievances, very awesome

Mao, I do read all the posts by the Folkyerselves. They make me laugh.

-WAL MART on one of the 3 days a year I actually go there

-Leasing office CLOSING for 4 days, not telling the residents about it, and having UPS packages of Christmas presents locked up in it. (good thing my man is the way he is, or the gifts from my daughter & son in law would still be in there until monday lol. i feel sorry for everyone else though)

    – hard working people footing the bill (this should include rex ryan) while the lazy lounge about gettin everything for free

    – bad play by play announcers and color guys

    – woman sports ‘reporters’ who dress like ho’s and then object when carcillo is said to them or when they are stared at. Keep your boobs in your shirt if you don’t want attention you dumbasses

    – Greg being MIA for a while

    – Mako’s full of carcilloycooke work schedule

    – people who chew their gum like it’s a box of rocks, or who crack it like they are prostitutes on the corner

    -Antoine Dodson

    – my daughter being brainwashed to the dark side

  38. Tiki - I heart Brett Favre on

YES! MZA first line! WOOHOO, may the kid shine on the world’s biggest and brightest stage!! Dubi better finish off 4 MZA passes tonight! WE WANT THE CUP! WE WANT THE CUP!

  39. Tiki - I heart Brett Favre on

Weise didnt look bad at all. Looked big, like he can handle his own. Nearly scored twice in one game with us. Todd White shouldnt be on this team. Provides nothing.

  40. Blue Seat Horror on

Agreed Weise should still be up. They probably wanted to bring up Zuccarello, but figured Philthy was not a good initiation game. And now with Gaborik injured they have an opportunity to bring in someone who’s more effective as a scorer than a banger. And Frodo is far more intrepid going into the tough areas than Gaborik. Hate to say it, but given the way Gaborik’s been playing this should be an upgrade.

  41. Blue Seat Horror on

Yes, Weise was replacing Cally against the physical Flyers. And he had a great game (especially compared to some other players). Frodo replaces Gabby. White will go away when Prospal and Cally return (barring further injury), or after he’s passed through waivers for the fifth time.

Someone mentioned this earlier, and this seems to have happened alot this season…players getting injured or sick right around the time they’ve earned a good Prucha-ing.

  42. LCPB,
why would you go there, especially this time of the year. there are actually some really good christian people in this world, please do not lump them all together. I guess this would be considered my grievance for today.

  43. Linda CalPrustBoylahan on

lol bull dog, had to get the man a pair of boots, and that’s the only place that actually carries this particular brand!!

Oh, i don’t paint them all with the same brush. Being down here in the south, it’s amazing what you see and hear from people who say they are good Christians! I was actually stunned by this one woman who was cursing out my past coworker over a $30 differences in price that she was actually NOT having to pay! I guess being in the bible belt has opened my eyes to a few things. Misconceptions abound, but i can honestly say, in the 4 years i’ve been here, I’ve met more rude, condescending, hypocritical people that I knew in NY, and these are ‘native Alabamians’ to boot lol

Hope you have a wonderful Christmas bull dog. We’ve had our share of lil spats, but hey, it livens things up lol

  44. Blue Seat Horror on

Besides Orr, White has his only goal of the season against a Southeast Division team, so obviously he’s the man for this game.

  45. Blue Seat Horror on

This is the part that always scares me, the listing of former Rangers:

Tampa Bay lists two former Rangers on its roster: Adam Hall (2006-07); Dominic Moore (2003-04 to 2005-06).

    Forget that Stamkos kid.

  46. Gift of GAB-orik on

You guys kill me. This is the wittiest, funniest blog ever!

grievance- getting massacred occasionally on Call of Duty Black Ops

talking on a cell phone for 2 minutes before you realize the call was dropped

stupid/obvious questions asked by al trautwig between periods for example “you guys are down 2-0, what do you have to do to win” How about… SCORE MORE GOALS. Jackwagon.

  47. LCPB,
you had banned me from saying saying your name, something about a crush. I was thinking on this festivus that maybe you could lift the ban, and I could address you properly.

  48. Linda CalPrustBoylahan on

ya know bull dog, it was some silly thing and i asked you not to link my name to whatever the heck it was! LOL wow, this was like over the summer. Silly silly silly. i saw last night that Rod Lurks extended an olive branch on the blog.

If this is a true peace offering, I would like to say well done Rod. We are crazy here, our tangents have tangents, and we might offend every now and then, but i don’t think it’s ever done maliciously, its mostly all in fun ( well, except maybe Orr and Olga, and Orr and Salty, and Orr and…..)

  50. Merry Christmas to all fellow Ranger fans.

I’m looking forward to watching the game here at work before I head to the airport.

It is feeling like a five goal night to me. Im kind of excited to watch MZA and see what he’s got.
