When we’re getting cheated by referees, which is practically every game, Torts ought to just pull our players off the ice and refuse to play unless the refs act fairly. If they choose not to, Torts pulls them off the ice and forfeits. Costs the fans at the road arena their money and the excitement of seeing a game.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again- this team would NOT have a .500 record had Gaborik been hurt for the same span last year. We are getting goals by Dubinsky, Callahan, and Boyle which would not have happened a year ago.
Christensen is gonna find his way off the roster and if Stepan can’t hack it with Gaborik then he should be sent down to get his confidence up.

MDZ has always had shaky defensive play, but his offensive skills have been pretty weak so far this season. His breakout passes and decision making have been atrocious.
And the game was lost by….Lundqvist.
And as long as he persists in dropping to his knees before the shooter even sets his shot, they will cook his goose over his shoulder.
It is this obstinacy in not making an effort to perfect the stand and face the shooter technique ,with the pads together, (a time honored technique by the way), he will always be a good goaltender instead of a great one.
It is the single most outstanding flaw in his game, even worse than his tendency to give away rebounds.
Every time I think I’ve seen an atrocious call by the refs, they out do themselves.

1. Gaborik comes back and stays healthy
2. Drury takes Whites or EC spoke which is a plus
3. Prospal come back and can center Gaborik and Frolov and the line clicks
4. defense stops sucking
5. Henrik stops letting in a soft goal every game
6. Aves is Aves and plays with controlled edge
7. Torts learns to coach
then maybe just maybe we make the playoffs

I can forgive this team much quicker than last year’s team because they are trying miles harder this year. They are obviously outclassed and outcoached, but most of the players are trying their best and coming up with some good effort. Good on Boyle for the career season he’s having.

well put Blue. We kept saying we’d rather lose with ‘the kids’.. well, we’re watching that now. We’re watching our core guys become a team, watching our young guys get the experience. I like the effort, I like how, most nights, they don’t give up. Guys like Boyle and Prust, who both worked hard in the offseason to improve. Dubi coming into his own, Cally being Cally…AA maturing…the education of Stepan..and on and on. Much more optimistic this season than last. Things have a way of working out, sometimes we just have to wait a bit to see the rewards of the labor.

Well said, Linda. That effort Aline will go a long way. Washington is going to seriously contend for the cup this year. Just look who we are dressing, folks. And they could’ve just win this game too. I’m willing to wait and I’m sure the wins will come. To me, this is the best sustained effort this team produced in years.
Frolov is terrible! I’ve watched his play with the Kings for some time. He has never looked this bad. He is clearly not in the shape he should be.
EC is another terrible player. If he was any good, do you think he would be put on waivers by three teams?
Fedetenko is another bum who got his deal and now he’s done his job. Stepan will never develop playing with these two losers.
Blowzy is not totally at fault on that goal. Shmolov failed to clear an easy puck. Mdz made a dumb pass and blowzy just stood there, waiting for the puck to come to him.
on a side note, I am really getting ticked off at Mdz. His home run pass crap is predictable now that opponents are just waiting for it to come to them.
Asa team, the biggest problem they have against a team like the Caps is that they take too long to decide what todo with the puck. Torts needs to work on this fast.

Blue and Linda, well said on both your parts. We wanted this team, this very young team that is just not as skilled as the Caps or the Pens or anyone of the other top teams in the league, and well, we’re going to have nights like this. Nights where they play their collective behinds off and come up just short. Having Gaboirk tonight might have turned the game in their favor and having him later on in the year may very well win this team games they wouldn’t win without him in the lineup. At the same time, they are going to struggle and make mistakes and I, for one, am OK with. I like that I am seeing them being a team, sticking up for each other and growing together. I like seeing ‘the young core’ that Torts has talked about endlessly come into their own as players and as leaders. The future is bright, even if it hurts a little bit when they lose a game like this.
i’m sorry its hard to hear, but Drury will make this current team better when he is healthy. I’m not saying him alone is going to turn things around.

standard ranger crap, send down the 22 kennedy and keep white up. kennedy is lower cost and to bring him up will have to clear waivers while who the hell would want white. a small issue but just shows how the rangers are fools and make bad moves. the ood thing on all the players people seem to dislike; frolov, ec, fedetenko, white etc. the yall have 1 yr deals. next year roszival will be in his last year.
i like the fight and toughness of this team, just not enough scoring and skill. last 90 seconds could not even get in the zone, 2 man PP scored after the first guy got on the ice. also like the age of this team…avery is not that good, and prust also. play hard etc but soft on the puck in there own zone(both give up tons of turnovers) and both cannot score.
you need guys to score 15 goals not 5…..
