When you’re team is battling for a playoff spot, and they need points, and they’re down by a goal in that game, then the confusion is understandable.
Like I’ve said in the past. Gabby deserved that beat down. He was a complete idiot for putting himself in that position. We needed him to play the game, and score goals, not sit in the box, and let agitators get to him, which he did. He was pretty much useless for that game, for most of the end of the season.

Roszival was actually hitting and crosschecking a few Flyers, yet the meek Girardi and Staal were constantly on the ice, as well as Del Zotto with his long passes to no one. Carp was right—Girardi and Staal are not good together. And it doesn’t matter how many penalties, it was lousy defense that lost this game.
We lost , all is still good . We wake up and prepare for the Devils. Its a long season so we just have to be ready for the next challenge.

Normally I would say it’s best for the Rangers to rise above the Flyers level of play, but they should’ve run Bobrovsky. I’m so tired of watching teams in the Atlantic run Hank. Enough. They need to start doling out some cheap shots against teams like the Flyers. Make them think twice about taking liberties with the goalie.
Boogard did what he was paid to do tonight, which is beat the Carcillo out of the next toughest guy in the league. I’m fine with that scrap. Prust was our MVP tonight, though. Black eye and all. Go Rangers, get em next time.

this is what happens when you have too many top 6 players all fighting for teh minutes. 2nd liners like boyle get thrown on the 3rd in favor of 1st liners like frolov. and when ya put elite snipers like fedotenko and christensen out there, its gonna teal time away from role players and 3rd liner grinders like gaborik. with all this talent gabby cant even get a spot on teh roster. what to do. but its a good problem to have. if prust gets on a scoring slump, you can always throw boogaard out there to put one in and get things rollin.

Cally was crying after the hit. Literally, he was in tears. I thought it was because he was in pain, but maybe it was because nobody did anything to stick up for him.
Torts was reasonable. Liked that he said other players besides Prust should step up. And he wasn’t complaining about penalties, but about bad play.
Staal and Girardi are old enough and well-paid enough now to take some responsibility for their poor play. They should be the first two to step it up.

sometimes Del Z thinks that #4 on his back means he is Bobby Orr. he sometimes tries to do too much with the puck. I agree with Torts when he benched him. it should not be longterm or anything like that. but he needs to learn now in his second season that he cannot skate thru men like kids in junior hockey.
