Rangers-Flys for the first time this season, at the Arena That Changes Names Every Five Minutes (why can’t debris fall on their heads?). Not much more needs to be said.
Henrik Lundqvist starts in goal (against Sergei Bobrovsky, 6-2-0, 2.39).
Derek Boogaard back in (duh). Todd White and Matt Gilroy are prucha’d. Evgeny Grachev gets his first taste of the rivalry, as does Derek Stepan among others.
Speaking of which, we’ve got a new poll down the right side.
Our buddy Andrew Gross reports that Chris Drury’s re-broken finger was, indeed, broken in the same spot, and that the captain believes it was re-broken because it was in a weakened state. So much for that coincidence that he broke the same finger in a different spot.
He also reports that Carcillo is skating on a fourth line with ex-Rangers Shelley and Betts. Wonder if Prust might make an appearance on a line with Boogaard—because Carcillo won’t go near Boogaard, but Shelley will.
Two unrelated items:
1) Isn’t it nice to not be getting phone calls from all those full-of-carcillo politicians?
2) R.I.P. Sparky Anderson.
