Hope to chug on over to training camp for a little while today. If so, will check in with an update of some sort later on.
I need to get a few numbers out there.
First, Congrats Boneheads! Yesterday we hit our seven millionth—that’s 7,000,000!—page view at Rangers Report. I keep telling you guys you rock, so I don’t know what else to say. You are passionate about your team, you are hilarious beyond belief, and you have made this place amazing. It just gets me so pumped up.
Second, the countdown. A lot of you guys have gotten into it, and I have enjoyed it. Now I have to fix a foulup on my part … and that’s par for the course whenever I have to deal with numbers.
I counted the number of days until Opening Night in Buffalo. And though I counted it right, the countdown we’re doing will have us at 1 on the day of the first game, when it should be zero. Unless I post 1 that morning, meaning we have to get through that game day.
Instead, I think I’ll fix it so that Oct. 9 will be zero.
To do that, today we’ll do 20 and 19. OK? Then we should be back on track. Anybody want to volunteer to check that math for me?
20: Jan Erixon. Horace Clarke.
19: Kris King. Dean Talafous. Nick Kypreos. Scott Gomez. Mark “Y.S.” Osborne (we call him that because one night in Hartford a fan by the pressbox spent three hours, non-stop, hollering, “You S… Osborne”).
19: Willis Reed, The Captain. Jean Ratelle.
PS, yesterday was my final day of vacation for 2010. I can’t wait until 2011.
