The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed defenseman Corey Potter to a one-year contract, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero.
The deal is for the 2010-11 season and is a two-way contract that will pay Potter $500,000 at the NHL level.

could care less about Corey Potter. there are a bunch of prospects (Klassen, Valentenko, Niemi etc.) joining HFD. Potter had 3+ seasons in HFD to make an impression and he didn’t on Renney or Tortorella.
Redden (hopefully), Sauer, Valentenko, Williams, Klassen, Niemi and Baldwin will be the d-men in HFD this season. Dont see where Corey Potter fits…good luck in Scranton…

You guys sound really good. I’m not crazy about that style of vocals, I’m more old school metal where the guys sang like women, but I really liked the music. Hey, I bust on Hank but there’s not many goalies I’d consider swapping. And push come to shove I wouldn’t swap because he’s MY goalie. I want to win with my guys. I know he cares, he wants to win more than most. He’s going to have his best year yet, youngsters and all. Can you say Vezina??
I agree. People that say we should trade him say that we aren’t going to win anything now anyway, so maybe we could get something in return for him. Yeah, we’ll get somebody who can score goals, but we won’t have a goaltender who can stop the puck! We won’t be any better off. The only way I trade him is to give him a chance to win the cup with another team. And I can’t see him wanting to leave for that reason. He seems to be a loyal and classy guy.
