I mean that in a literal sense. What happened?
I saw the last two minutes of Chicago-San Jose, and not a second of Philly-Montreal. So I went to Hockey Central on Versus, based on my TV listings, and there was some guy riding a bull or killing an animal, or attempting to kill another human being, or some other show. But it wasn’t hockey.
So I went to NHL Network, which I know shows every goal, every near-goal, every fight, during its NHL On the Fly show. But for some reason NHL Network wasn’t available on my cable provider last night.
So I really have no idea what happened Sunday. I assume that both goalies were good in the first game, and that Halak wasn’t very good in the second. The conclusion I drew from the final minutes of Chicago-San Jose was that I missed a great game, and from the score of Philly-Montreal was that I didn’t miss much.
Am I wrong?

My father passed away 15 years ago today. I had a chance to visit him in the hospital the night before, but since I was a stupid 15 year old kid, I chose to stay home and watch a Rangers-Nordiques playoff game. I never got another chance to see him.
My decision haunts me to this day!

MZA w/ gwg today. game wasnt really good. norway looked good for the first then it got really slow and sloppy. mza looked real good on the top line. skated very well. he eludes the d-man with ease. pretty much how he scored the goal. reminded me of briere and how hes always open on the side of the net.

Was there talk about getting Malhotra back to the Rangers around here? He looks like he fits in well with the Sharks, but wouldn’t he just bust here? Besides, he’s only a 10 goal scorer?
I remember liking him lots when he was first up with the team. I also remember being upset with…was it Muckler? It seemed like Malhotra didn’t get a lot of ice time with the Rangers, and I thought it was crucial to have him out there developing his play, especially when he was playing on a team with the likes of The Great One. I remember feeling like Manny wasn’t really given a chance here…

I’m rooting against Canadiens, not for Flyers. I want to break Montreal’s consecutive decades of winning the Cup. The way they managed to “tenderise” Capitals and Penguins by completely halaking Ovechkin, Crosby, and Malkin, do really you want them in the Finals? No, thank you! billy I’ve been watching the playoffs and I’m not rooting for anybody. I just can’t root for anybody, but the Rangers. I want to see a good, exciting game, but whoever wins and loses doesn’t matter to me one bit.
I’ve even tried to embrace the Hurricanes as my “second team” since I live only 50 miles from the RBC Center and I play street hockey in Raleigh. In fact, one of the teams in our league is made up of Hurricane’s employees. Still, it’s just not a part of my makeup to go to a ‘Canes game and root for them.
If it ain’t the Rangers, it doesn’t matter.

Charlie, I agree. If what I am doing right now is rooting, it’s rooting against teams…. Typicially, when the Rangers are either eliminated or don’t qualify, I “root” for the lowest seed in the West to win. Which now, I guess is the Blackhawks.
