Go time for me, anyway. I’m going home after three nights in Troy, N.Y. covering basketball. So this is going to have to serve as your game thread.
So the Rangers come up against a great opportunity today, all in their soft little hands. Beat the Bruins and jump right back over Atlanta and into the race. Lose and make the playoffs more of a pipe dream.
The Rangers are as close to eighth place as they are to 13th, as you know.
And though I’m sure a certain reader will be beside himself cursing Bostonians and believing that the vast NHL conspiracy is going to defeat the Rangers again … I’ll just say this:
The Bruins sure took care of that messy little Matt Cooke situation sooner and with more righteous fury than the Rangers did when their star got beat up in Philly, when their captain got concussed, when their captain had to fight Cooke, and when their goalie kept getting run over.
To me, that says a lot about a team.
See youse during the 12:30 game, Edzos!
