So Sean Avery is prucha’d tonight, along with Aaron Voros. While the six offending defensemen continue to play.
John Tortorella said they need more “engagement” out of Avery. I think Avery’s been pretty lousy lately, but just one on that lousy list, and I don’t necessarily agree with this decision, though it’s not a bad idea to get Enver Lisin de-prucha’d and hope he can contribute some speed and offense. God knows the Rangers need it.
Avery spoke to reporters in Atlanta today, and took the high road. You can read it on Andrew Gross’s blog.
The Rangers officially have lost one in a row (that’s NHL losses), but in reality they’ve lost four in a row, and in reality they’re nine games under .500 (not NHL-.500). And they need points desperately, and quickly.

I don’t know anymore. This is what is frustrating about the Rangers. Regardless of opponent some games, few and far between (except in the first 10 games of the season) we play like we do tonight. Than there is the rest of the season, where they look like they’ve never played before.

Yahoo has been excellent with showing live hockey games the last few years. I try to watch a lot of Sharks (my West Coast homies) and Kings (really love their team and Kopitar is my favorite non Ranger) games and there have been plenty on yahoo.
