That was a, dare I say, clutch goal. The timing of it was indeed clutch. That garbage goal could have sucked the wind right out of us, and instead we just kept coming strong and scored. They looked like they are carrying the play over from the last game and everyone is finishing their checks. I say you leave this lineup together as long as they are winning. I know there is still a lot of hockey left, but I am liking what I am seeing so far tonight.

Some interesting factoids for you Boneheads that are laughing at the mediocre Eastern Conference:
As of last night, the Rangers currently hold 7th place in the East. If they were in the Western Conference, they’d actually only be 9th – not bad.
Now, if you’re tallying points in the old 2 points for a win, 0 for a loss, 1 for a tie (yes, Carp, all shootout games are ties in my book), then the Rangers are in 6th in the East, and still 9th if they were in the West.
Now, if you want to show a good statistical spread of the standings based on the 1 point for OT/SO loss by making all regulation wins 3 points and all OT/SO wins 2 points, the Rangers are actually 5th in the East, but STILL 9th in the West.
These stats don’t matter, but I thought some of you might enjoy them.

There sure are a lot of trade rumors floating around. I can’t say anything officially yet, but I DID have a conversation with Brian Lawton today. He held out for quite awhile, but he eventually nodded in agreement to trade Lecavalier and Stamkos for Wade Redden, Rozival and Brashear. Then I pulled his head out of the toilet and he began breathing again. So wait for an announcement after the game…

Ha-Ha! Captain Clutch loves that skit! I watch it all the time on my iPod Clutch! Especially during intermissions, when that hothead Torts is ranting about needing more jam, or peanut butter, or whatever he yells about!
As for tonight’s win, the key was obviously Captain Clutch’s CLUTCH game-winning goal! What a winner! SUPER CLUTCH!!! Captain Clutch scoring the game-winner in a blowout, where I’m from (Trumbull) they call that the Chris Drury Special! Ha-Ha! That’s also 2 games in a row with a goal! Captain Clutch is on another hot streak!!! And what about the quote earlier by hockey historian Rick Carpiniello: “These past few games, Chris Drury is skating faster than any Ranger I’ve ever seen, including Pavel Bure, his contract is a steal”…thanks Carp!

Drury was taken over by Captain Jack Harkness. The only bad thing is that he keeps hitting on his teammates, which is really awkward, but they’re winning so no one is saying anything.

ya know, i saw Brashear with a couple good shifts when he played for the caps. he showed better action in the offensive zone than our 4th line players did for nearly all of the season. i wasn’t happy about his signing but i definitely did not think that he would be a complete shell of his former self.
hopefully, he sits and sits and sits and sits and…..
even when we hit a rough patch again.
