Coach Smith, the former Cup-builder

Don’t know if you saw this, but the only GM to win a Stanley Cup for the Rangers in the last, oh, 70 years, is now a coach. Neil Smith, who owns the Johnstown Chiefs, went behind the bench after firing the coach.

You can read that story here.

  1. damnit where did my post go??

anyway, i posted the link to the story on the previous thread. and yes, chicken parm pizza is great. also, when in a veggie mood, salad pizza is not bad either

  2. damnit, my computer went all sybil on me! sorry Rick, if i sounded rude, that was not my intent!

  3. name is clutch clutch, i speak but my actions don’t say much
I speak tongue in cheek, with 7.5 million in the bank things never lookin bleek. thats weak, 7.7 seconds was my peak
A clutch clause and 30 million more is what i seek
My jobs to hold Sathers Johnson(oh wait? goalie?) while he takes a leak. Your point is moot. yeah 7.5 million is all i’m aboot.

  4. Linda, you did post the story. And I commented that I didn’t think he could skate..

Carp is trying to be nice. He posts some irrelevant post about pizza in the middle of nowhere and then carps himself. Classy.

Which reminds me. You want real pizza, come to a typical old fashion Italian neighborhood: Bensonhurst, Bay Ridge, Staten Island. Gourmet, thin crust or regular.

  5. ilb, for future reference, the words pizza and irrelevant should never be used in the same sentence.

Green Bay just tied it 38-38!

  6. Carp, you’re the awesomest!

I gotta call my mom to ask her the name of that pizza place we used to go to when we took my bro for a hair cut. It was not too far from “fairyland” if any of you guys remember that place, on the way to Kings Plaza.

Ok, mom seems to remember it was next to Tonys Barber Shop, and it was Greek. She thinks it was on Flatlands ave.

  7. + baby wipes….

HOLY CARP ORR, you are freakin hilarious~

ILB, she couldnt remember the name of it, but that sounds kinda familiar! The pizza was soooooooooo good! Then again, so were the burgers at Eddie Arcaros (sp??) at Kings Plaza.

This Cards Packers game has gone from the ridiculous to the sublime!

  8. Thank you, thank you. It came from the heart.

You people are turning me into a half assed Feetball fan. These games are kind of fun to watch. I usually watch aboot one quarter, but ive been watching some games.

    Nothing compared to Hockey though.

  9. wicky229 (gabby, just get 27 more!!) on

my shoe my shoe lord help me jesus my shoe, or something like that anyhow!!

speaking of hilarity (i’m sure this has happened somewhere before since 94 but….), I stubbed my toe earlier today in the house and let fly with a couple of wickian expletives and mrs wicky goes what’s wrong..I reply my toe. So mrs wicky starts yelling MAT TEAU MAT TEAU MAT TEAU…..I love my wife!!!!

  10. wicky229 (gabby, just get 27 more!!) on

OMFGs, that is hilarious! Did you see the michael jackson thriller one on the same link?

  11. Wicky, your wife is something. I guess she has no choice but keep her sense of humour sharp. I mean, is there any part of your body that you haven’t injured yet? How in a holly hell do you stub your toe?

  12. wicky229 (gabby, just get 27 more!!) on

and yes, my reproductive set up seems to be working quite well and intact!!!! Other than that 54 broken bones and 12 (recorded) concussions!!!

  13. wicky229 (gabby, just get 27 more!!) on

who is holly?? If my wife finds out about her, I’m in trouble!!! (i kid i kid)

  14. Wicky- LMAO, I haven’t even noticed it doubled.

12 concussions?! I’m surprised you can still type. And how does mrs Wicky allow you to even change their diapers after 12 concussions? Sheesh.. I’ll bring you a helmet in March, I guess they don’t sell them in Montana.

  15. not only that, but how does she let him watch tv,with all the flickering and changes in light?

sorry, an American movie classic is on right now and its one of my favorite movies of all time…yes, the great
    Pee Wees Big Adventure!

  16. wicky229 (gabby, just get 27 more!!) on

yep, if I get home late from work, she knows I wasn’t cheating….I just couldn’t remember how to get there!!!!

  17. This is terrible…I’m most likely missing Tuesday’s game and will definitely miss Thursday’s game.

    So mad…I don’t miss any games…ever…

  18. Great article by Brooksie. I think he is absolutely right. Rangers should be sellers and should try get as many high draft picks as they can. Future above all else.

  19. I agree with the idea of the article but 1st rounders for an impending UFA or even an RFA for that matter?

  20. CTBlueshirt: For a team that thinks it’s very close to a cup and has a low first round pick, it might be worth it.
