This is what an old newspaper guy like me hates about the internet. I am here to write a column for tomorrow’s paper on Sean Avery playing against the Stars team that hated him (unless something outrageous happens in the game). But I was in Tortorella’s press conference this evening and asked a whole bunch of questions (answers in the post below), and I had to pretty much give the whole world the meat of my column before I even write it, because these quotes would be out there, everywhere, shortly after they were said.
I don’t mind telling you guys, my Bonehead friends, the good stuff. But I dislike that people who were nowhere near here will have them posted soon, perhaps sooner than I did.
It’s like the other day. There were two of us, Steve Zipay and myself, and some Carolina TV guys, around Tortorella when he talked about the limousines. He exaggerated, and he was talking about limos and cabs from the hotel to the morning skate—and some guys take those so they can get there early, ahead of the bus. But as soon as Zip and I put that info on the internet, it was everywhere, and the other night Versus’ clowns were talking about it, completely out of context, that guys were taking limos from their homes to the game, etc.
Same lineup tonight. Voros is prucha’d. Tortorella said Prospal is doing OK, but that he’s not close to skating yet. See youse during the game.
For some extra Bonehead entertainment, I’m going on the radio with Dave Maloney between the first and second periods. I think it’s 1050-AM tonight.
