The only reason Brash is on the 2nd line is so Torts can justify having him on the ice at the same time as Crosby/Malkin. He knows he will get roasted for putting a 4th line of Brash/Boyle/Voros out there, so he does this instead. Basically hanging his Captain and Alternate out to dry by them playing short-handed.
I vote for Brashear on the 1st line!

Avery has been put on the first line over the past couple of games. He never started there, but he has had time on it. I thought he did well there but there seemed to be times when no one would chase the puck along the boards. Avery was behind the net, Gaborik was off the screen hovering in open ice and prospal was taken out of the play. puck ended up safely out of the zone. It will happen again, watch for it.

The team as a whole played better. The goaltending was not great. Henrik should have had at least a couple of those, he didn’t look any better than Valli tonight. Without really good goaltending this team looses.

Both Hank and Valli’s problems are that they drop to their knees on every shot. That along with playing so deep in the net they put themselves at a disadvantage. Their sticks are useless they don’t use them. If you noticed Fluery tonite….how many shots did he stop because he stood up and covered his net and let the pucks hit him. I’ll say it again….Richter was half the size of these guys and covered more net, played his angles and challenged shooters…he didn’t sit there and allow guys to beeat him high because he was always floppin.
