Grabby , Players do care about what fans think. Hockey is a real emotional sport and players are “fans” too of the game.
A players dream is to make it in the Hall of fame, if you are being looked at by fans and media as a choker…You don’t want that image. Avery is diferent , he made his life by being hated. Guys like Higgins and drury should really take it to heart, Staalsie too.

These guys are super soft, way to easy to play against. Maybe Torts should lace them up,and show the boys how to do it.

Torts better change his “safe is death” m.o. quickly or he is going to be canned. This team is horrible to watch. I can’t stand how easy they are to play against. How come every shot we take is from the boards and every shot our opponents launch is right from the slot? And the most frustrating part about it is I really believe the talent level is pretty good. They definitely should be in the top half of the league. Their “system” is broke!

Vlo I agree, the talent level is there. They need to skate none stop though, which they don’t do.

I guarantee that if this was the Isles or Devils forwards playing this system, they would have a ton of success. But when you get a bunch of lazy guys who don’t work hard all the time (especially the leaders minus Prospal), a game like this and yesterday is what you get. This team can be tops in the league if they just work hard. Thats why I love watching the Isles. Not the most skilled guys, but boy do they work their tails off for 60 minutes almost every night.

I think if there’s a rift between him and Lundqvist, it’s Torts who goes.

Lets remember guys…we have 3 rookies on defense against one of the best offensive teams in the league…we already know the odds are against us…I blame Sather yet again for not having any sort of depth on the blueline. With 2 rookies already in the lineup, was it really their plan to just stick more rookies on the blueline if an injury happened?

You guys that jump down Hank and Valli’s throat make me laugh, and I’d guarantee most of you have never played hockey before. It’s easy to score goals when there is no defense or puck support. I’d be willing to bet a typical men’s league team could score against our 4th liners. Did you guys see Brash and Voros literally WATCHING the trailer take the shot? How many goals against is it going to take for Torts to realize that Voros and Brashear have no place in the line up. One game Brash was a -3 in 6 minutes of ice time! All of these shots are coming from the slot with no defensive support. The Pens have enough time to pick corners. This team is God awful

Where does this rift of Hank and Torts come from? With all these games packed into a short time, we knew Vali was going to start one of them, either Friday or tonight.

sadly, only our defense scored. and our defense was our weakest link. so they were the best and the worst part of the team game. IF our forwards could convert on some of those GREAT scoring oppertunities, That would have been a game. instead we are all sulking again and calling for someones rolling bloody head. Something is missing, something that we already have but are overlooking. I know the team wants to play well. they want to win. they want to dominate. they want to make the right play. they want to put pucks on net. they want to find the open man. something is lost between the want and the execution. lets call it commitment. commitment to the system in place.

Poor use of personnel tonite by Torts. Has anyone else noticed how lacking in fundamentals our goalies are…..they drop to their knees on every shot and never use their stick to stop a puck…I thought the goaltender’s pads were for stopping shots….ours use them to cushion their immediate flop to the ice. All our troubles are not because of Hank and Valli, but geez they need to stop something once in a while. Maybe Richter needs to be hired as new goalie coach (I know we supposedly have an all world coach now in Allaire) and teach these guys how to play an angle and stand up once in a while…they both big guys who block a lot of net. We need to be sellers at the deadline….play our young guys and let’s see what they got. Can’t be any worse. I think you will see Chad Johnson in the near future.
