  1. damn i fell for it! stinks that our man Johnson was sent down! it would have been awesome to keep him up. Hopefully Redden will be part of the next cut!!!

and I have one other thing to ask, just playing devils advocate…

The people who were doing the fantasy league and talking about it on the blog were asked not to talk about it on the blog because a few people complained. I can understand that there are people who don’t want to scan and skip over posts regarding the fantasy stuff, but it’s at least hockey related. What about all the Seinfeld stuff that goes on? There are people that don’t like that, have voiced their dislike of it, but it’s allowed to happen. Seems kinda odd.

  2. Linda, some people asked them to stop the fantasy league talk. I just asked the to keep it to a reasonable amount. I mean, we don’t need, nor should we have every single trade proposal posted here, especially since those in the league obviously have the e-mail addresses. Just worried that if this becomes dominated by the fantasy talk, we’ll lose the regulars. It was rampant that day of the complaints. The Seinfeld stuff gets silly, but then it goes away for a long time, or it goes in drib and drabs. That’s my feeling on it.

  3. oops sorry Chris, yes 2 years. I think it was 1.7 this season and 2 next. So much for the $700,000 lmao!!

  4. thanks Rick, I knew you’d explain it! Thats why this blogs the best.

Now we can watch Dubi tear it up and get his even BIGGER contract in 2 years, right Sally?!

  5. Semenov after taking a bunch of panalties sticks. While Johnson gets sent down after a shutout? And Pottor is now on waivers?

And what is the obsession with Parenteau? Ridiculous.

  6. Wow, if Del Zotto, Gilroy, Grachev, & Anisimov make the team we’ll have 4 rooks in the lineup every night.

  7. he’ll be back TR! ok, I’m off to get smart by reading “A Brief History of Time”. You guys and gal(s) have a good night!!

  8. Goodnight Carp!

Hi Chris from Buffalo… We should start a Buffalo boneheads contingent!

Linda, Dubinsky’s next contract is gonna be HUGE!

  9. We’ll show these Buffaloonians a thing or two about hockey! I just had a big Dubinsky celebration at the Essex pub, but you missed it.

  10. rob L –
not only will those four make it but Sanguinetti will as well. Honestly, at this point, despite the lack of experience, how can it be denied that the Rangers top 6 defensemen right now are Staal, Gilroy, DelZotto, Girardi, Sanguinetti and Redden? Rozie has to go. And up front I’ll bet they send down Parenteau and maybe Grachev who will be first call-up.

  11. uh…johnson should be lundqvist’s backup…that’s all i have to say about the cuts today

also aren’t there a few people missing off the cut/still on the team lists? owens and locke being a few of them?

  12. Linda,

Props on sticking up for the fantasy league talk.

Everyone in the league is a regular here, in fact, MAKO had to add to the amount of teams due to the amount of people that wanted to join. The complainers are just that, complainers. It’s the same people that say this blog doesn’t post enough “news”.

  13. Yeah! And also, the Rosen’s Nosens are seriously awesome you guys. I just want everyone to know how awesome my awesome fantasy hockey team is! Okay I’m done now.

Chris, so are a lot of Rangers fans, unfortunately. Buffalo’s pretty awesome so far. I’m loving it here! But go Rangers!

  14. Hehe Chuck… okay I feel shame.

No one seems to know the name of my neighborhood, but I’m near Voelkers and Wegmans, so North Buffalo-Elmwood-ish? You?

  15. glad dubi is signed no more distractions. I agree putting contracts aside our young dmen are better than our vets by far, just hope torts see’s that as well.

  16. No, but whenever I ride my bike to South Buffalo is smells like cereal. Or rotten eggs. Buffalo is soooo weird. I guess you live a bit further south though.

  17. New York, September 19, 2009 – New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that the club has agreed to terms with restricted free agent forward Brandon Dubinsky.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but anonymous league sources speculate that 2000 rollover minutes were included in the deal.

  18. i prefer potter over del zotto, think potter more seasoned for nhl right now.. del zotto needs another year

  19. I think Del Zotto has the first 9 games, if he is totally over his head, he gets send back to juniors.

I still prefer Bouillon over Semenov for the 6-7th D-man spot

  20. The 5 guys (Byers, Owens, Arnason, Rissmiller, Locke) were subject to waivers, so I’m not sure if that has something to do wit their roster status. They are with the wolfpack training camp for sure, with a few guys playing today.

  21. Chuck, props on the rollover minutes!!! Did sather send “mom” to the pack too?? I think I’ve seen that “generalissimo” dude elsewhere too, think he had a picture of sather dressed as dr. evil.

  22. As far as semenov goes, he’s been good, the first interference penalty on him was bogus, it was a good hit (speaking of hits, man voros lit that guy up) the second might have been a penalty, but either way he has acquitted himself quite well. I do not think sangs will be on the roster he may be first call up. Potter is not anything special, i thought he would be the seventh guy, but at this point no go. I would find it very intersting if the seventh d man was a rotation between redden and rozy…whichever one was playing worse!!

I think johnson should back up hank instead of valli, but just an opinion.

  23. Rob F

It will only take a few bad games by Valli, and Johnson
    will beback.

Rob L..compared to the “vets” we have endured for the past several seasons, the rooks look remarkably talented.

  24. Does Sather have any moves left in him to get them a real 1st line center or a veteran defenseman that actually has some value? I’m glad they signed Dubi but he hasn’t proven he can fill the top pivot yet. He’s not physically intimidating or forcing other teams to change their defensive focus because of his skill. Hopefully he’ll grow into the role but he’s not there yet. While I like the young D you have to think at some point they’re going to have stretches where they dont play great and without a veteran stalwart to settle things down it could get ugly. Rosie and Redden just aren’t that guy. I don’t see this team with an identity yet but at least Torts is trying.
