Player who I’ve been most impressed with tonight: Ales Kotalik. He’s skated well, has a really heavy shot, and isn’t afraid to let it go. I just wish it was just a bit more accurate. He’s like Fulton Reid. 1 for 5.

It felt good to sit back and watch some Rangers hockey. I was looking forward to this all day. My daughter was all excited too. I got home from work and she already had her jersey on. I don’t know where this team is going to finish in the standings, but I really do believe that this team is going to be a very hard working team and that we will make the playoffs ahead of the Debbies. Ha.

Thanks for the league invite and we will reciprocate when we fire up our espn league in a week or two! Man , that was a tough draft, lost internet towards the end so some of those picks were rough. My wife was killing me when she picks in front of me…we think too much a like.
As far as the game…..not bad, DZ and Gilroy looked pretty good, liked how semenov played. Thought the crowd was pretty bush league booing brashear (and pretty hypocritical cheering when he drilled someone into the boards), bush league like vancouver or philly fans.
Anybody who was in the arena tonight … anything to report on the MSG renovation? I know they moved the pressbox from above the Zamboni entrance, where I sat since 1979, to somewhere near the ceiling. Any other notable changes to the place?

I was very impressed with Gilroy and even more so with MDZ.
He clearly is NHL ready and in fact should be permanantly partnered with Staal. Gilroy is a force on offense. Needs to work a little on his defensive positioning. But both should be a lock to make te team after YES only one game.
I was very disapointed with AA. I hope to see some offense from him soon because we need it. Grachev should also be oo this team he is the real deal.

Gilroy is a Real Deal, no doubt will make a team. I liked kind of GAL (Grach,Artie,Lisin)line – if plays more with each other, we can expect some very good production… Higgins – exactly as expected-very good.Surprized by Dru (really excellent condition)and smart moves and even more with Brash(Orr,please don’t kill me)far better skate,puck moving and perimeter boards work than beloved Colton,sorry.
Wasn,t impressed by Kotalik, should see more.
