Mind letting us all know where you read that the Rangers plan to play Lisin on their top three lines next season? I don’t necessarily disagree, but how can you know that for certainty?

everybody has got to understand that torts is in sather’s ear telling him what type of player he wants and who fits into his system best. i like korpi but torts must have another opinion and he obviously was not putting up offensive numbers. plus, he was due to get a raise somewhere around 1.5 million.

if you look at the moves made this summer, the players who has been brought in are aggressive, bigger and are faster. thats torts’ system. renney is not coaching this team any more. its a new philosophy and everyone’s personal attachment to some of these players are clouding their opinion of the moves made.

tyree- its just another step in the right direction(albeit small step) to get more offense on the team and balancing out the 4 lines. we may have 1 superstar, but we have a lot of good offensive players who will all help in the scoring dept. i just wish we had 1 more elite forward and redden gone. if sather can trade rozy and picks for sharp wed be in good shape. but at least we have more balanced offense throughout the lineup. just gotta hope all these new guys and 2nd year players pul their weight and duby and cally gotta have 20-25g seasons and dru has to have high 20’s -30 in goals. gabby cant carry a team like jagr can.

i will miss Korpedo but he waned too much money for a kid that has one year of XP. i thought he would be another Jan Erixon in a few seasons and was going to replace betts or Sjo on the PK this year. I bet he gets 15 goals next year in Pheonix if he signs there. Lisin is a good swap though. different players but an even deal in my opinion

the reason Lisin was moved is that he was a healthy scratch for at least 20 games last season and he doesn’t want to go back.

If the Rangers plan to play Lisin on the top 3 lines every game than there is no reason why he wouldn’t come back…

According to beyondtheblueshirts both Korpedo and Lisin have offers on the table from the KHL and the GM’s think they may not be able to sign them so they are swapping “problem children”. I guess Maloney has some sort of affinity with Korpi having drafted him and thinks he might be able to convince him to stay – that and Gretzky may not like Lisin as he benched him for poor defensive play on more than one occasion, something that won’t be too much of an issue with Korpi.
