My Perfect Day today would be to :

1. Trade Rozsival to Tampa Bay for Paul Ranger
2. Heatley signs with San Jose and we trade for Marleau (some picks and/or some prospects since they cant take money back)
3. We sign Cammalleri
4. We resign Mara

Cammalleri(5.5) - Marleau(6.3) - Zherdev(3.5) = 15.3
Higgins(2) - Drury(7) - Callahan(1.75) = 10.75
Dubinsky(1.75) - AA (821k) - Avery(1.9) = 4.47
Korpi(1) - Boyle(700k) - Byers(700k) = 2.4

Staal(826k) - Girardi(1.55) = 2.37
Redden(6.5) - Sangs(855k) = 7.35
Mara(1.75) - Gilroy (1.5) = 3.25

Hank(6.87) - Vally (750k) = 7.62

TOTAL CAP HIT OF 53.51 MILLION

I think it's wishful-thinking to get that kind of package back, and the only reason I mentioned it was that McLean had reported it.

And by the way, the Sens aren't interested in Rozival, Zherdev OR Redden in any potential deal for Heatley, thanks all the same :)

Forget that trade Darcy. And it's probably so much speculation, just like here, being a Sens fan forum.

So it was reported on one of the Sens Forums that Doug McLean (former Blue Jackets GM) was reporting on Sportsnet that the Oil trade has enticed Sather to send the following to Murray:

Dubinsky, Callahan & Del Zotto FOR Heatley.

Murrey is apparently holding out for Staal in any deal to the Rangers.

Still no luck finding a link for this, but I know how much you guys love your Dubi, Cally & the kids on D.. and how much you'd RIOT if this deal went through.

Have a great Free Agent Day!

I understand what Doobie was saying. But here's the thing, by the time that we develop a cup contender, Heatly will really be a dimishing talent. Do you seriously think bringing in Heatly and two other FA is going to bring us a cup in the next two years? When has this EVER worked...for anybody?

1- the callahan/dubi debate over Heatley. Dubi and callahan are still in there growing phase.
2- heatley plays on a line with alfresson and spezza, two very good players where callahan and dubi play with average players at best.
3- I was extremely happy yesterday when I read sather pulled of the trade to get rid of Gomez and I praised sather which is extremely rare. After sleeping on it I know in the back of my mind sather will use that money and spend it like a drunken sailor and sign another bad player/contract and the rangers will be back to square one.

Rick any news from camp yesterday? Or was everyone wiped out from day 1.
jpg thanks for the website Rangers improved themselves capwise and depth wise. Sather made cap room and like he said made alot more possibilities. I understand where the Canadien fans are coming from. It is the opposite of when Gomez came to the Rangers. Maybe he will click with their fowards better than he did in New York. I think with lower expectations they may be surprised. I was excited when Gomez was signed but he did not blend with any line combinations not even Jagr. I hope Sather learned his lesson with big UFA contracts.
It makes no sense to trade Callahan, Dubinsky or Stahl until we see how they play a full season for Tortorella
with his conditioning & system. They all have tremendous upsides and are truly Rangers. Heatley is hard to fathom. His 180 goals over 4 years are very enticing but how much of that was possible due to his linemates. His downside is would he be desireable in the lockerroom or worth the price of the players lost in trade.

Greir is a nice hard working Grinder that would be good for the 3rd line but we got a # of 3 liners waiting for the call up. I think Moore makes the team as a 3rd or 4th liner. I also bet that we sign Joel Lundqvist to compete for our 4th line center position
