I made my case about Orr being the most indispensible
player on the team in another blog. ( Mind you now, I didn't say the most Valuable!) There is a difference. He is all that keeps the rough riders from making mincemeat of the less accomplished pugilists among the Rangers, and he takes very few penalties other than the fighting ones. He knows the game and above all he knows his position. He realizes that he's not an accomplished skater or scorer but he gives everything to his team mates and he in seventh heaven just be be a member of the NY Rangers. He is one of the most devoted players on this team - I believe that he
deserves to be with Rangers for a career. They can make room for him.
He reads plays well, and is seldom the subject of giveaways, and he is one of the most feared fighters in the league. He would help more of his players on an individual basis if he were on the ice with some of them when they become fouled. But there's little he can do when he is on the bench. There are ways a coach with intellect and a bit of audacity can use him more efficiently.

Well, would’ve, could’ve, should’ve, it is over and now let us focus on the off-season.

Here is my checklist:

Buy the Rangers from Dolan
Fire Sather and have him executed…ok, maybe not executed, but banned from the US.
Buyout the contracts of Redden, Drury, Gomez, Naslund and Rosi
Just give the young guys a chance next season; you can’t get any worse production from them.
Re-sign Cally and Dubi
Let Z, Morris and Antro walk
Do away with any tacky giveaway and that stupid “Lets Go Rangers” chant that person does over the PA.
Add toughness to this team.

I could only dream!!

*************************************************

I share that dream with you!! I've been dreaming of the Sather part of it since he got here! If only this dream could become reality!! Maybe he'll get the man-bear-pig flu

Jane and Rick thank you immensely for taking over this blog and all your hard work. I enjoyed it thoroughly! I want to thank all the Ranger fans and their heartfelt enthusiasm. I don't always agree with your comments but you help me to formulate my own opinions. I for one hope to come here during the off season. It has been the place for me to come and get 1st class info and opinion. I hope that this season either results in the end of Sather as GM or he has an epiphany and learns how to operate under a cap and has someone else evaluate talent because he clearly cannot do either.

“I think what happened to Betts speaks for itself ”

Orr was dressed. That was no deterrent.

Orr was not dressed in game 6

Maki it shows how the rangers lack depth that Drury had to play with 1 hand.. I also gree with Doodie, hey I like Orr he is a good guy but you cannot play a guy with zero skill. clarkson is not a heavyweight but is tough and he can play..

Maybe Byers can be that guy.. They do not need a heavyweight but they need a few guys who can play and are tough.

zheredev is gone the guy disappeared and if he thinks someone else will pay him big bucks he is delusional.

antro I would take back at a short term and reasonable contract, 2 yrs. $2.5 mill..he can score 25 goals/

again they need to guy 4 lines next year and populate them with many 15 to 25 goal scorers mostly 20, that is there reality...korpedo, cally, dubi are back, they will get modest raises... there will be 2 or 3 new guys on the blueline, 2 of them will be rookies....

all is not lost... roszival can be moves if you want he is better then people think. redden is unmoveable.. drury is a 25 goal scorer in a good team.. gomez is a 80 point guy on a good team. dubi and korpedo need to shoot the damn puck..

Anisimov has to be on the team. If they can move Naslund that would teally help....Grachev if he deserves a promotion do it, forget about his age.. guys that dominate in lower levels do that for a reason!!!!!Staal went from Sudbury to NY and for a defender it is tougher.

they need at least 1 legit scorer if they can get 1!!!!!!!!!

We were pretty much injury free all season cause they played Renney's dumb low-tempo (for lack of a better word) game! How could you get hurt? They didn't even sweat.

Well, would've, could've, should've, it is over and now let us focus on the off-season.

Here is my checklist:

Buy the Rangers from Dolan
Fire Sather and have him executed...ok, maybe not executed, but banned from the US.
Buyout the contracts of Redden, Drury, Gomez, Naslund and Rosi
Just give the young guys a chance next season; you can't get any worse production from them.
Re-sign Cally and Dubi
Let Z, Morris and Antro walk
Do away with any tacky giveaway and that stupid "Lets Go Rangers" chant that person does over the PA.
Add toughness to this team.

I could only dream!!
