By the way…Why does everyone on here think that Messier can coach? He was a great leader and player, but that has nothing to do with coaching. I think if it were going to happen, it would have a long time ago.

Ya know, Torts will be good I think…But the Rangers played well under Renny for a while there…I think the real issue is players. I might be wrong, but Redden, as much as I am not a fan, may not be that noticable if our so-called captain didn’t suck soooooo bad. This guy is aweful and should be sent to the minors. I’d rather see a guy like Callahan with the C on his chest any day. There is a guy with some guts. Players have to be accountable. For years the Rangers had freaking Malik on the blue line. What the hell are they thinking??? Now we have to sit and watch as a captain of the greatest team in America is totally unable to motivate his teammates. This blows. But again…I could easily be wrong.

Punch Imlach: I guess all the hockey experts, for example on TSN and MSG, are also clueless as well as Sather who stated that this is not all Renney’s fault and that everyone should be held responsible. Only reason why Renney and Perry were let go is because it is much easier to change the front office during the season than the entire roster.

Some of you need to wake up… stop adding to Renney’s rap-sheet the fact that “he didn’t hold the players accountable” over…and over… and over… Yes there are different ways to deal with players on a personal level… and yes Renney maybe needed to treat some of the players a little differently, but why do so many of you think that the players shouldn’t have held themselves accoutable??

That is killing me! These players as a group do not have moxy or fire… and a recipricating personality behind the bench might as a spark… but it won’t fuel these players fires…

...and a run-and-gun offense isn’t going to translate into these Rangers all of a sudden lighting the lamp on a game-to-game basis… they don’t have it in them!

I want Tortorella to succeed… and I want all the players that wear these colors to succeed… I just can’t see how Tortorella gets these ducks to stop quacking and stop barking!
