Rangers respond

Posted by: Sam Weinman - Posted in Uncategorized on Jun 19, 2008

So here’s the Rangers response to the league’s efforts to jettison the Dolans.
“Not surprisingly, the NHL is once again proving why an independent judge must address our claims. Despite trying to resolve our differences privately, the League has responded with excessive fines and now threats that have nothing to do with the merits of our position. Every American citizen or business has a right to go to court and have its dispute heard by an impartial judge. The NHL shouldn’t be afraid of the judicial system. We will pursue our case vigorously and will not be intimidated by the NHL’s bullying tactics.”

Granted, a lot of this is posturing, and frankly, I don’t know how any of this really effects the average fan.

I suppose if the Dolans really were ousted, that would be newsworthy. I’ll be sure to let you know, if only because at that point, the Rangers might be playing their home games at Chelsea Piers.

The Dolan’s don’t like it when they’re not the ones doing the bullying.

I used to say the same mr. 22. But my tune has changed on DrTv. F them. I’ve had drtv since the YES network’s premier. At the time they were the only ones in central jerz with the network. So the fam (lived at home at the time) changed to the sat. I’ve been a customer for the last … what, 10 years?? I upgraded to HD in april. I just moved back to the area a few weeks ago and had my cablevision triple play installed. Cablevision’s cable internet is the ONLY provider available for me. So the reason that DrTv can go F themselves is that they’re trying to charge me a $417. CANCELLATION FEE! I’ve been a customer for 10 years! but because I upgraded to HD less than 1 year ago, they don’t give a f*ck.

Sorry for the rant, but bad business is bad business. And I look out for my fellow Ranger fans. You should be aware when someone is wronged like that. Cablevision at the same time is pony-ing up half of the fee. Thank you cablevision for knowing what it is to value a customer.

Unfortunately your owner is a J-off.

If they kick the MSG ownership group out do the Rangers have to move to Kcity with Boots and Muggzy and the Pinch-man???

Bring em down to CHARLESTOWN…..we havent had a team since the Chiefs won the Federal League and folded….....only the National Hose League could do something like this….and there was NO conspiracy to get the Penguins into the Finals…......yeah right…...didn’t Bettman come from the NBA as a Stern disciple????? and what have all the papers been filled with lately over the fouls called in the playoffs???? and oh yeah, Oswald acted alone too…....

Well, it seems the “AVERY RULE” wasn’t the only one concocted during the playoffs against an original 6 team!

Detroit zamboni driver (the guy who twirls the octupi he finds on the ice, been doing it FOR YEARS) was threated with a $10grand fine if he did it again! Wow. What a mickey-mouse league. I hate Bettman and Campbell.

And you know who will pay if the Dolans end up in court… That’s right the season ticket holders.

Larry Brown had a great line in one of his recent articles

“Why are we getting this feeling that the longer the Rangers take to send out their season-ticket invoices, the more painful they’re going to be to open? ”

    Amen Larry!!!

    Bill, it’s Larry Brooks, first.
Second, he wants to sign Rozsival for $5million!!!

Please remove such filth from this website, or save it for the Islanders (a la Poti, and perhaps Malik).
    Thanks.

Rangers tickets will go up again but Larry is wrong, I usually don’t get my package to renew tickets until atleast the first week in August…probably even later…they have to wait and see who they sign FA and how much the payroll goes up…

Bettman sucks…get rid of this cancer…

okay, we all know that Eklund blows. But is there anyone whose rumors turn out to be substantive more often than not?

I always said that the NHL has a “hard on” for the Dolan’s and Rangers. It has been evident since Bettman came into the league, why Bettman is still there is mystery just look at todays NBA which he was a part of.And like I have said in previous posts ,I have no doubt that the nhl screwed the rangers with terrible calls in the playoffs and gave the pens Crosby on a platter to dear Mario ,the NHL poster boy.

    From today’s Post…
“On Wednesday, the league convened a meeting of all its teams – except the Rangers – in Ottawa, where Bettman tried to rally support for the threatened action. ”
