On second thought, it’s too nice a day

Posted by: Sam Weinman - Posted in Uncategorized on Apr 16, 2008

Do we really want to spend this beautiful day and evening locked inside a hockey rink?

Well, if you insist.

First celebrity sighting of the day: was parking my car at a lot near the Garden, and who was in front of me in line but Dancing Larry. I would have said something but I get star-struck easily.

As I said earlier, no line-up changes are expected, but I will check in from downstairs in a bit.

In the meantime, Paul Mara said today that his beard still doesn’t itch. We will continue to monitor this developing story closely…

And Bobby Granger is on active duty and was sent off to the Devils practice site to spike their gatorage with horse laxatives. If you see a trail following Brodeur tonight you’ll know why.

Here’s something great. I just got a text message from my brother who just boarded one of the double-decker Rangers buses. He said the atmosphere is great. Two full buses of people. They’re blasting the Goal Song and shooting more “I am a Ranger” promos. I can’t even tell you how excited I am. Puck drops in two short hours!

The wife and I have our ranger shirts on…I would bet we might be the only people in oklahoma with rangers shirts on today.

OK…the bullsh-t of the year here.

Sat in traffic on my way home. Stopped for a nice $14 Rib-eye to toss on the grill. Dog’s been home since 6:30 this a.m., and I get a call for tix to the game. I live about an hour and a 1/2 from msg. To make matters worse? The tix are from a friends client. A client that has a luxury box on the blue line.

F this man. We better win now, cause I’m pissed.

If you didn’t pick up on it, I can’t make it there.

That’s probably true every time you put on your Rangers shirt.

Sam, look for Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins, both big Ranger fans.
I remember seeing with regularity game show host Bill Cullen and Huntz Hall from the East Side gang at the Old Garden on 50th and 8th, at Ranger games ,they were loyal fans.

if you see Timmy – watch out or he’ll put the hook on ya!

  12. Angry Roach

If you want to see Dancing Larry, he hangs out at the Molly Wee pub on 30th & 8th before the game. I guess that’s where he fills up on his courage juice!
    GO RANGERS!

Sammy, you need to get some press plates. Makes parking so much easier. I park the car and walk 10 feet right into the Garden! (With a pit stop at the bar, of course!)
