Gomez on the ice

March
27

Scott Gomez is on the ice for the optional morning skate, and even sustained some contact courtesy of Jason Strudwick (and his mustache).

Where that leaves him for tonight remains to be seen.

Meanwhile, thanks to “Blueshirt Bulletin”:http://ordinaryleastsquare.typepad.com/blueshirtbulletin/ for pointing out a “report out of Russia that says Avangard Omsk general manager Anatoly Bardin is coming to New York”:http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.hawk.ru%2Fnews%2F4466.html&langpair=ru%7Cen&hl=en&ie=UTF8 to talk to Jaromir Jagr about returning to the Russian Super League.

More on that, if there’s anything to it, later….

Sending Jagr back to the Russian Super Leage and using it as a bargaining chip to get Cherapanov back over here?????

    I AM SOLD!!!!!

Lets sign off on it now. =)

  2. Salty

    Jagr has GOT TO go.

  3. Beer Me!

That’s a good read over at blueshirt today.

See ya Jags. Thanks for the 2 good seasons.

  4. Salty

I gues sit’s better than the IcePigs coach doing his player’s wife.

    ...

huh? who are the ice pigs and who did who’s wife? Was this Ted Nolan? I seem to remember something about this. GODDAMN I would LOVE this guy to coach the Rangers.

  5. Chris F.

Can we all agree to agree that, no matter how talented, Marty Brodeur is an a—hole?

    Yeah, I thought we could.

    Go Rangers. Go Hank.

  6. TrueBlue

Over / under on a repeat of Avery crashing hard into Brodeur tonight?

Seriously though, Brodeur’s comments on Lundqvist sound a little immature and probably hint at a little jealousy. Regardless, I think when Brodeur gets emotional or upset he tends to not play as well…cue Avery…

  7. Kris

Jagr is coming back….Cherepanov isnt ready for the NHL yet…how old is he?? Whats the rush? Let him stay in Russia for another year..dominate the AHL the next year and then bring him up to be calder trophy material…..no problems….
As for Gomer, i have a good feeling he’s playing tonight and the lines can go back to what they were…THANK GOD!!!

    Avery is NOT a center!!!!!!!!!

  8. Salty

“See ya Jags. Thanks for the 2 good seasons.”

OMGZZZ DID YOU TALK TO HIM>? WERE YOU IN THE RANGERZZ LOCKERSROOMZ AND HERE SUMTHING NO ONE ELSE HERD?

    lolz

  9. Agravaine

    Sam,

who else was at the otional skate?

    Beer,

that stinks that he changed the day on you, but good job getting to the oepeners. I have been trying to go (have dones so for the past couple) becuase they fall on or around my birthday, but now Prague will mess that up… I wil probably still get the tickets to the MSG opener though

“Play hard every night…or else… your next baby might have eskimo oxen hair like me”

Priceless!! I was thinking along the same lines. Hit the ice hard or I hit your wife hard. You’re choice. That guy is awesome. Renney probably doesnt even look at chicks other than his wife.

  11. Agravaine

I’m pretty certain that the agreement the Rangers had was that Cherapanov would play in Russia next year and then come to America, since he isn’t ready for the NHL yet being just a kid. I think that was agreed on when we signed him.

  12. Beer Me!

salty – you never cease to amaze me. I get your point, but it’s COMPLETELY different from what you said yesterday. My statement implies that I’m speaking to HIM. Yours was the opposite.

  13. Agravaine

    Lohan,

as a woman I need to stand up for Renney here and say that isn’t a bad thing!

  14. Beer Me!

I thought it was ‘Rod The Bods’ wife that Nolan was nailing.

  15. UpstateRanger

After Hank pitches shutout #10 tonight, here’s hoping he starts his post-game interview with the Maven by saying, “It was really WEIRD out there tonight…”

  16. Who Needs Lohan

if by some chance clarkson and avery start a line brawl tonight, i will be watching for Mr. Lundqvist to challenge that pu$$y

  17. Agravaine

    lol upstate!

  18. Who Needs Lohan

sorry Agravaine, that did cross the line. I am from the look but dont touch camp, and I’m all talk no action besides!

  19. Salty

Renney probably doesnt even look at chicks other than his wife.

    ..

Renney probably makes sure to shake his players hands before they shower so he can go home and sniff his palm while squatting on his pocket rocket.

  20. Who Needs Lohan

thanks for making me look better Salty. I can always count on you….....

  21. joefroh

Our power play makes we want to cry and I hope we score six or seven and drive Marty out of the nets tonight. Let’s hear Marty whine some more about how the Rangers are lucky. The Devils can’t score into empty nuts in practice and had to do pushups yesterday. Will someone please explain to me why we can’t make a Hartford callup? What about Mike Ouellette. He had his first AHL hat trick tonight in an 8-2 victory over Lowell. Or bring up Moore or Korpikoski for a few games. Hutchinson has been the best player in Hartford all year and he isn’t a great defensive hockey player but do we really believe that Strudwick and Mara are that much better. And let’s not overlook that Girardi and Malek have way too many bad nights to overlook. I like Girardi a lot but I don’t know why they haven’t sat him down a little this year when he has screwed up.

  22. Beer Me!

“Man, I hope they win big, I really do, but the rational person in me knows that this team simply does not have the desire to seriously go after a Championship… everyone in that locker room knows it too.”

“See ya Jags. Thanks for the 2 good seasons.”

    NOT EVEN CLOSE BROTHA

  23. Salty

I thought it was ‘Rod The Bods’ wife that Nolan was nailing.

    .....

haha no way… when did roddy play under Nolan? it’s heavily rumored that Lindros pegged Rod’s wife in Philly…no way is Rod’s wife THAT much of a puckslut.

Ted Nolan rules face and pwns OPP either way.

  24. Agravaine

    Salty …

    Joe,

We can’t call up Hutch becasue he wouldn’t clear reentry waivers, though at this point since we lose him at the end of the season anyway… I think Pock will be up next year since he is still under contract and so the reentry waivers are also why we aren’t calling him up. As for the other kids (forwards) Renney isn’t calling them up becuase as he said PRucha and Hollweg were both waiting on the bench for so long they fill the slots.

  25. Beer Me!

Maybe that’s what I was thinking of in philly.

But a guy doesn’t have to play for a coach for the coach to nail his wife.

  26. Pavel

I would like Cherepanov here, who wouldn’t, but I would also like to see Jagr and Shanny come back midseason, like Niedermayer and Selanne did… they need the rest.. look at Jagr… lockout he played in Europe, and he comes back and tears it up!

  27. Salty

    NOT EVEN CLOSE BROTHA

haha did you take it that seriously? eaaase. It just seemed like you were estimating something by what you’ve seen and read and making a statement suggesting you knew something… which I don’t have a problem with at all really, just busting your chops for busting mine.

i think we can at least agree we both want Jagr gone, and not because he’s a “bad player”.

  28. Doodie Machetto

“Maybe that’s what I was thinking of in philly.

But a guy doesn’t have to play for a coach for the coach to nail his wife.”

Yeah, but it’s an opportunity thing. When would Rod’s wife been near Nolan? Hasek’s wife on the other hand…

Jagr is going to come back mid season. I’ve been saying it for almost a month, and you can take it to the bank. Whether he plays in Russia or somewhere else during that time, I don’t know. But I do know he will be in a Rangers sweater at this time next year.

  29. Salty

But a guy doesn’t have to play for a coach for the coach to nail his wife.

    ...

True, but someone said “his own players wife”..I don’t think it was Rod’s wife… to be honest I think it may have been something with the owners or presidents or something, and it may even have been them doing it with Nolans wife, rather.

  30. Beer Me!

“i think we can at least agree we both want Jagr gone, and not because he’s a “bad player”.”

No doubt. Nah, not ‘serious’. But I look forward to the jabbing.

I know that doodie…are we really going to start this discussion today? LOL

    But….hey, they could’ve crossed paths.

Mark Messier’s best man at his wedding was Ken Daneyko. Never know the history.

  31. Salty

Haseks wife…. starting to sound more familiar…Buffalo days…. now I remember why the story didn’t phaze me when I heard it… I hate Hasek…you want to talk about weird goalies…damn dude this isn’t 1979, get a real mask…

  32. Chris F.

Is this an Islander’s coaching board?

  33. Salty

Mark Messier’s best man at his wedding was Ken Daneyko. Never know the history.

    .......

Has anyone ever seen the “Ultimate Gretzky” DVDs? on disc 2 theres all this extra footage, and they show some of Wanyes wedding, and theres this few seconds of a sneak shot of Mess near the Alter….and he looks like he’s mentally preparing to fight a pack of wild dogs or something… those are great DVDs… narrated by Keifer Bauer Sutherland and the interviews are with JD…. really is “ULTIMATE” Gretz.

  34. Nasty 1

I always found that funny about Messier and Daneyko. You never really heard anything about their friendship over the years.

  35. Beer Me!

I have it and never opened it. Messier’s book…don’t remember which one. Talks about how all those guys used to do coke and drunk drive for fun. EDM is a pretty boring place. And when you’re friends with Marty McSorley…well, anything can happen.

  36. Beer Me!

    “have it”...ultimate gretz
