What an example to set for your kids! Rant and rave and get something you don’t really deserve in the first place. If more people treated accidents like accidents, there’d be a lot less tension. That’s why they’re called “accidents” right?

Actually saw the Avery incident. He threw the water bottle, it clipped off the top of the side-glass partition, and it twirled its way onto sections 41 and 42. Made a pretty nice splash landing because the top part broke off and everyone in those few rows, including a father and his kids, got wet. The man then took the now-empty bottle and raged his way to the side of the penalty box and started hitting the side partition to get Avery’s attention. Security guards swooped in to prevent the incident from further escalation. In between periods, a mop-and-bucket guy was cleaning up, and the father and his kids had left the game..

I was away and didnt see the game, is this really what happened? Talk about way over reacting to a simple accident. I am surprised the father would try to provoke an incident when his children were there. There are a lot of assumptions that can be made about Sean Avery and while most of them would probably ring true, throwing a water bottle at children does not sound like something any human(especially a hockey player because it’s such a family sport) would do on purpose and I doubt highy there was any bad intentions on Avery’s part. I am saddened that the father would not take his apology at face value and wound up leaving the game. Its water, it will dry, why leave in such a snit? It sounds like he set such a bad example for his kids.

That being said, will those kids benefit in any way from that $25K fine?

However, I believe the bonus structure somehow delays the cap hit. The bonuses (worth up to $3.3million) may actually be a hit against the 08-09 team cap, I’m pretty sure it’s something bizarre like that.
