Short on answers

Greg Moore scored again for Hartford last night. I’d be surprised if he wasn’t called up in time for tomorrow night, or even in time for today’s practice.

There’s only so many times a team can “hang its hat on getting chances”:http://www.lohud.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071028/SPORTS01/710280382/1034/SPORTS. Eventually they have to actually start scoring goals.

I’ll update later….

i’ll give you an answer sam’bench the idiot coach.how cab anyone justify putting scrubwick on the fourth line and hollweg on the third?doesn’t the idiot reallize that he is killing 2 of his 4 lines?what a morob!!!!

  2. bklynblue

czech it looks like Sather is now worried more about cap space than icing the best team.

I guess he’d rather wait for Avery.

robby go watch football and hope for Vince Lombardi’s criticism to work for you. I guess you & he would have preferred losing than making a mistake but winning. Great philosophy, except much is learned by mistakes too. You ignored 1951 mr wisdom. Go play with your calculator & your 2+2 mentality.

  3. matt

Any of you guys notice that the team removed the stupid tails on their jersey? maybe they thought it would help them score. i just blogged it over at The Red Line: http://getitnext.typepad.com/hockey/

Sam when is the next Q&A? I have a bunch, last night was disgusting.

  4. Robby Bonfire

Right on the money, Sam, re Greg Moore. Moore leads all Hartford forwards with 81 even-strength FIB points; also shows a blazing 62-10 relative plus-minus record!

Significant to note, and CREDIT TO SATHER, here, new trade acquisition, RW Pierre Parenteau has compiled a quick 68 FIB points at Hartford, while logging a 36-4 RPM record at the same time. He was the only Hartford forward at +2, in their 2-1 victory last night, the rest were +1 or even.

Alex Bourret: 13 Fib. points and a horrid 6-64 RPM log.

  5. Robby Bonfire

BKLYNBLUE: Where can I join your Ralph Branca Fan Club? They tell me that on a gray October day in 1951, Ralph was “out of position,” too. Guess that’s why you became a Ranger fan about the same time. LOL. Stick it, Buddy!

  6. Tim

If both the Rangers and Devils continue to struggle for a few more games, I wonder if Lou and Glen would consider an Elias for Gomez swap… The solution? I’m not sure, but it’s an intriguing thought. A Czech center for Jagr, a struggling player returning to where he’s been successful in the past…

  7. bklynblue

robby show me where to stick it on you…Go read the Ralph Kiner story. After hitting 50 something home runs , he went in and asked for a raise. The owner showed him the newspaper of his team coming in last. So he told him they can come in last without him too. He got a paycut instead. So mr sports if unlikely hero wins the world series it’s a mistake in your brain. ..... oh I thought you were a NYR fan from before I was born, # boy. It must hurt trying to act smarter than everybody, but not sounding it. Be careful what you wish for.

    Fire Renney clap clap clapclapclap!

    Fire Renney clap clap clapclapclap!

    Fire Renney clap clap clapclapclap!

  9. stf

I’ll say that again. Shake this team and FIRE RENNEY!

  10. Meshuggah

are the teams going back to the old jerseys. i heard something on the pre-game last night.

  11. Richard

This team has to many stars. We need a coach that has a set of balls and knows how to coach superstars. Where is Mike Keenan? We need his hard nose coaching style to whip these primadonnas into shape and he does not care about the name on the back of the jersey. He will bench you. That is the type of coaching that will turn this team around. Not the soft spoken Renney in which the players run the team.

  12. longtimerangersfan

Awwwwww…no more “fart” flap on the back of the jerseys…what’s the NHL coming to. C’mon Mr. Bettman you can think of something else to screw up, can’t you?

  13. longtimerangersfan

This team will NEVER win the Stanley Cup with Renney at the helm…he only holds ROOKIES accountable which probably makes them more tense in trying not to screw up. Jagr should NOT be captain IMO! I watched an interview with him on the Rangers website and not once did he look at the camera or the reporters. He looked embarassed to be there. THE CAPTAIN would have been staring down anyone asking him a question.

  14. czechthemout!!!!!

you WILL NOT SCORE many goals when five of your twelve forwards
are:blair betts(0pts),colton orr(0pts)ryan hollweg(0pts)jason scrubwick(0pts),and marcel hossa(0 goals).that’s almost half of the forwards!than you compound that by playing one incompotant player on every line.what do you end up with? 16 goals in 10 games and a 3-6-1 record!

I know,i’m being too negative. It will come, there are just too many veteran leaders on this team, they are all gooood men, blah clah blah blah.

But wait,we have the genious behind the bench to help cure all our ills.Oh wiat,i’m not supposed to crtiticize him because if i do,i’m being too negative!

this team has about as much of a chance to win the stanley cup as any of you have of seeing your ears without using a mirror!

let’s all be positive.repeat after me.There’s no place like home, there’s no place like home, there’s no place like home…...

  15. ORR..Talented Mr. Douglas Orr

    TIM

Please tell me your making a joke.

Why the FUGG, would we EVER trade Gomez, for Elias. WHY!!! Elias SUCKS, he has no heart, maybe cause that snake that bit him sucked it out.

I hope your just saying that, and not wanting it to happen, cause if any NYR fan actually wants Elias for Gomez…..Then Wow, im stunned.

  16. Cliff

Trade Jagr – my 85 year old grandmother skates faster and has more passion for the game than him. At the very least strip him of that “C” – he’s no leader of men.

  17. ORR..Talented Mr. Douglas Orr

This moron Renney better call up Moore, who knows maybe he’ll pull a Cally on us, and we might have to leave him in the lineup, even if it means the 4th line.

Anything to get Hollweg out of the lineup

    Moore – Gomez – Jagr
    Dawes – Drury – Shanahan
    Prucha – Dubinsky – Hossa
    Hollweg – Betts – Orr

    Healthy NYR

    Straka – Gomez – Jagr
    Avery – Drury – Shanahan
    Prucha – Dubinsky – Callahan
    Hossa – Betts – Moore / Dawes / Hollweg / Orr

To many options, thats why im looking foward to next year, if Shanny retires, who will take that spot.

I can almost bet some sort of foward trade will happen, i think Renney wants to keep Dawes in, but who will have to go??

  18. ORR..Talented Mr. Douglas Orr

    CLIFF

Dont bring up that bull sh*t again. The “C” is meaningless. Mike Modano who is the heart of the Stars was stripped of the “C” and they gave it to Brendan Morrow. The “C” means nothing these days, we can give it to Betts and it wont mean a damn thing.

Everyone knows, the true captain of this team….....Its Hank!!! Without him, this ship goes dooooooooown.

Did anyone hear that , at the Bon Jovi concert 2 nights ago, at “The Rock” (Devils New Arena), some people set a car on fire, outside of it. Lol, thats all you need to know about that area, now what im wondering is how many Devil fans will get robbed outside of there this year??

  19. Cliff

Orr – you’re absolutely right when you say the “C” means nothing. Jagr proves that the “C” means nothing every night.

  20. Cliff

Orr – you’re absolutely right when you say the “C” means nothing. Jagr proves that the “C” means nothing to him every night.

  21. stf

Cliff, so far Jagr is one player that plays with the heart on this team so open you eyes.

  22. whoa

Start the Renney watch. Bring in Schoenfeld.

    It can’t be said enough.

  23. whoa

“Did anyone hear that , at the Bon Jovi concert 2 nights ago, at “The Rockâ€? (Devils New Arena), some people set a car on fire, outside of it. Lol, thats all you need to know about that area, now what im wondering is how many Devil fans will get robbed outside of there this year??”

Way to smear an entire city based on the actions of a one or two criminals.

  24. Robby Bonfire

Re: ”...If Shanny retires…” Where have you been (?), Shanny already retired, but is having trouble going away.

Did anyone see the “butterfly” he flipped at the Toronto goalie, just short of five minutes into the game, Saturday night? If you have a tape of the game, review it. Never before have I seen a shot directed at a goaltender at a speed of about 10 MPH! This guy is now the NHL version of a knuckleball pitcher. OMG! It’s OVER for “Shanny.”

  25. Robby Bonfire

I could tell you what Jagr’s “C” stands for, but the girls would take offense.

  26. glb

Elias is NOT a center. all these years with the Debbies he has played WING. and he is a lackadaisical softy who Sutter is already frustrated with.

Renney’s attempt to trap his way to low scoring games has resulted in first 2 line forwards who now cannot score because they are too busy backing out for Renney’s old boring Devil defensive scheme.

  27. Cliff

stf – is stf short for stiff? Jagr is done – open your eyes watch the way he doesn’t give a crap on the ice.
