"The best example is Jason Pominville, who scored 34 goals and 68 points last year."

if not for the lockout, he likely would only play 2 years in AHL. But yes, there is no big problem playing 3 years in AHL. But not in case of Immonen who already was 23. Liffiton spent 3 years in AHL, and is not being trusted. Helminen, Wiseman, Weller spent 3 or more years in AHL and weren't given a chance.

Bonfire - For once, we agree. I confess I've softened my stance against Struds, but he really is a horendous defensmen. His only asset is size.

Colorado Mark - I wouldn't say Isbister's arrival on the Pack didn't galvanize the team. I think they just settled into a groove. Keep in mind, most of the team were first-year players last season. The just needed some time to gel.

...As for guys skating two and three seasons in the AHL, I see absolutley no problem with it, as long as there's a competent coaching staff in Hartford(which there is). Take a look at last season's Buffalo team. Much of it was home-grown and many of the players on the roster skated two and three seasons in Rochester. The best example is Jason Pominville, who scored 34 goals and 68 points last year. He skated three FULL seasons and started a fourth before making the Sabres. Same thing with Ryan Miller. The best part about developing guys in on the farm is that they come up to the team with chemistry.
