"Dupuis remains an established NHL player." Right - a one-dimensional PK who falls on his ass taking a regular shift. You also saw him take two asinine penalties vs. the Rangers in the playoffs. He was his team's biggest liability in getting swept. Christ, there must be something better you can do with you time than tout this wash-out who is no better than 50-50 to even make an NHL roster, this season. He was a HORRIBLE acquisition by Sather and got dumped within a month of coming here. The fact that Atlanta is equally dumb is not a case for Dupuis having a range of skills, which he doesn't. He is strictly an OVER-EXPANSION era imposter. Wake up!

Prucha, Cally, Henrik, Tyutin, Hossa, Staal, Avery, Sauer, Sanguetti, Hollywood, Orr, Dawes, Dubinsky, Anisemov, Drury, Gomez, Jagr, Rozival, Liffiton, Montoya, Betts and a couple UFA's signed next summer.

That is what your roster will look like next season. Doesn't look too old and tired to me.

And nobody hits like Hollwegg, the guy is nuts and every guy on the other team has his head up when he's around.

to hoof, wildcard, and all the other kool-aid drinkers-

All i am arguing is for the team to have a lineup on the ice that gives us the best chance to win!that's it.I said before and i'll say it again,i could not care less if it is a 20yearold or a thirty yearold.I just want to win the cup.
playing plyaers out of position like callahan so early in his career is dumb, his DEVELOPMENT will be stunted.having Valliquette as the backup is DUMB!he sucks! They should either play montoya for 20-25 games and not wear out the king(my choice)or cut vally loose and sign someone like esche,at least he can hold down the fort if there are injuries to the king.It is my opinion that dubinsky on the 3rd line between callahan and prucha gives us the best chance as the team is currently constituted to win.As for the other kids or even mark smith,i will wait till i see them play over the weekend before i comment.

also someone wrote earlier that dubinsky is too slow to kill penalties.Obviously that guy has never seen dubinsky play or has no clue.dubi killed penalties for the pack last year.HE may turn out to be an average penalty killer, but to say he is slow is absurd.furthermore the rangers have enough penalty killers.

for the kid-kryers...from BB..."ten players, nine of whom played a total of 188 games. I refuse to include Jason Ward in that list, as he was an effective third liner and he was young. Two others -- Taffe and Fedorov -- were also young (under 25). Those two, plus Krog and Dupuis (who by the way remains an established NHL player), played a grand total of 25 games. Not one of the players you list lasted as many 50 games before they were jettisoned.

In the meantime, 22 different players under the age of 25 were given a chance to play, and played a total of 1,060 games over the past two season. Nine became mainstays in the line-up -- eight of them still are. Those nine players appeared in 979 games over the past two seasons. Two others will be NHL regulars soon."

the guys sent down will be 21 or younger. The Wolfpack had one of the youngest rosters last season & probably will again.

ORR Punch Survivor....Barely!!! : exactly...I think the Rangers should look for a cheaper vet, I just dont know if any are out there who would be willing to sit for 70 games a season...but Im sure there is at least 1

The thing with Montoya is, everyone is complaining that he wont get enough games, and he needs to stay in Hartford so he can play non stop instead of riding the friggin bench.

Montoya is not our backup, if he is, then the rest of his NYR career will be that way, because Hank is our Starter, and he will always get 60 - 70 games, unless he gets injured. I think we need to sign a vet backup, like Cujo.

Look at the Sens, they have Emery, and then on backup, the guy who pretty much brought the Canes to the playoffd before Ward stole his job. Point being, if Emery sucks, or gets injured, then Gerber can take over and do well. Montoya, i dont know.

also Montoya should not be the Backup...how will he develope playing a handful of games??? I mean I think some callups to have him play a game or two, especially if the Rangers clinch a playoff spot "early". I just think he is better served getting a majority of the starts in Hartford, as others have pointed out, a few years in the minors did nothing but good for Miller...and I dont see any BUF fans saying he should have been up earlier.

As for Strudwick, if its between him and a young D for the 7th/8th spot, than its easy, you keep the vet in the stands for when you need him and let the kid play in Hartford. I dont want Staal makeing the team as a 7th D, and even Pock, if he cant crack the top 6 than trade him, it wont do any good haveing him sit around ANOTHER year. JESSIMAN: I am all for that guy makeing it to the NHL...but I would think the best thing would be to send him to the AHL and make him one of the first callups if he continues to play well. Now if he really shines in the pre-season, sure let him play, but I dont see him being so much better than others that they decide more time developing wouldnt be needed...and I can see him pressing Hollweg, and perhaps that will get Hollwegs motors running better..who knows...the Rangers could have a good problem there...

"you must be dumb, because if Dubinsky gets 5-8 minutes you should complain about the coaching. And who says Dubinsky can’t kill penalties?"

Wow, what an intelligent response..You are the bozo talking about putting Dubinsky on the 4th line (with Moore and Jessiman) now..And that's what most 4th line C's get.(Not to mention we might have an even younger kid playing C on the 3rd line in Callahan). And Dubi is not fast enough or experienced enough to kill penalties in the NHL right now..But, I forgot, he's a kid, let him do it...Play Betts at 4th C and PK and Let Dubi get even better in Hartford so when he comes up again, he stays up...

"And Prucha was sent to Hartford for playing great, wasn’t he?"

OMG, how dare they send a 22 year old kid to the minors! What nerve! And after prucha got some needed ice time and experience in Hartford, he came back and played extremley well for NY....Great move...
