  1. Dump,

how about that heartless ranger club!!!!

totally outplayed them and deserved the win..

    tough win……..

  2. they need the callups.. what are they waiting for????

    1 D and 2 forwards. Hartford needs are secondary…..

  3. Doodie Machetto on

Expect Straka to move over to wing and Immonen to slide in at center. No callups from Hartford.

  4. czechthemout!!!!! on

it won’t happen stuart.straka to wing, immo to center.if any one else gets hurt then and only then will we see possibly callahan.

  5. What a game! They need to watch that game everyday as a refresher.

That really stinks for Hossa. I hope he still has his confidence when he comes back. Hopefully, it’s not a month. They’re dropping like flies.

  6. Hartford can hold its own if a couple get called up. They are playing well – practically everyone is playing well there. They can pull up a couple of players from the Checkers to cover. A few days ago they loaned forward Zdenek Bahensky and defenseman Ryan Constant back to the Checkers, so they could call them back if needed.

  7. czechthemout!!!!! on

hossa has the same injury that tyuts has, probobly out one month.can it be that we will see big huge speciman, nope.he will call up callahan.

  8. Shitbister – Nylander – Jagr
    Straka – Immo – Prucha
    Avery – Cullen – Orty
    Hollweg – Betts – Orr

    Malik – Rosival
    Pock – Girardi
    Mara – Rachunek

  9. you don’t know that its the same injury as tyutin. there are different degrees of sprains. no one will know for sure until after an MRI is performed. so everyone just RELAX

  10. No, just call up the whole GAG line out of retirement!!! Maybe Gravy will come down out of the pressbox?

  11. czechthemout!!!!! on

i am relaxed,i am just going by what sam said in his update.plus i am being conservative.maybe it will be less than a month will see tomorrow.

  12. Hollweg and Orr got just under 4 minutes of ice time, including the first shift of the game. Isbister had almost 18.

  13. Korpikoski? He plays a similar game to Hossa (I want Callahan or Dawes but they’ll probably move Immo up)

Hollweg and Orr got just under 4 minutes of ice time, including the first shift of the game. Isbister had almost 18.

They won this in spite of Renney. I just don’t get it!!!

  15. Huh?

Isbister is pretty much a hundred times the players Hollweg and Orr are. He can hit as hard and play with as much energy, but he’s faster, knows positioning, and has a set of hands that aren’t concrete.

Is he a great player? No. But he’s not an awful one. Hollweg and Orr are. Neither deserve more than 4 minutes of ice time in the NHL. They can’t play fast games and they can’t play skilled games, they can only hit. If Isbister can hit as well but can work a bit of offense, even just a bit… why use the other two?

  16. Longtimerangerfan on

They have to get the second PP unit out for more than just 15 or 20 seconds…they at least get shots on goal. Someone posted that the fishsticks were slow of foot…it sure looked like to me.

  17. Isbister actually played a great game tonight- do you need stats to be good? Jed Ortmeyer is a great example- Isbister brought energy and hustle. Bring up Jessiman (he’s got the hot hand right now- 6 goals in 6 games back)

  18. czechthemout!!!!! on

renney is the great equalizer on the rangers.kovy27-you my friend have rocks in your head if you think baranka was the best dman yesturday for the wolf pack.you seem oblivious to any mistake that guy makes and he makes enogh of them every game.you must be his pr man or his relative or something.sorry folks for the brief digression.

  19. 4:14 on the PP, 2:27 on the PK, 3SOG, 2 MS, 1GV, 1FW, 3FL

Hollweg had 2 hits, Orr had 1 hit. Even Malik had 2 BS and 3 hits.

  20. bring up Callihan, sit Orr. 0-7 PP was the difference in giving the flukes a point.

  21. yeah, that is why mr. hundred times has been in the AHL. teams felt he was so great he should not be in the NHL where he can shame all other players with his multi-faceted skill.

    Bwahahahahahaha !!

  22. If you think Isbister is faster and a better hitter than Hollweg, you must not watch much hockey.

  23. Guys are still complaining about Renny tonight???

Isbister is not Shanahan but he is more capable then Orr and Hollweg.

I assume the game in Long Island on Thursday will be rougher so I bet orr and hollwegg will play more..

Rgardless if they suit up Immonnen they need to callup 2 players…….

Guys are still complaining about Renny tonight???

Do you think Renney had something to do with this win? Wanna buy a bridge?

  25. This is the time we have been waiting for to finally give Callahan the chance to play with the big club for a decent period of time. All he got before was a cup of coffee with the big club. I think putting Prucha and Callahan on the same line would be a nice option, lots of speed and determination, but they may get killed. If they don’t call up Callahan, they should give Dawes another shot.

Great win tonight, I am almost beginning to believe they might have a shot at making the playoffs.

Does anyone remember 1995 when the Rangers squeked into the playoffs with the 8th seed and faced the # 1 seed, a young hot Quebec Nordiques in the first round of the playoffs? Colin Campbell coached his heart out and the the Rangers beat the Nordiques. Just something to think about…

    Nick

  26. czechthemout!!!!! on

beamer-work on his offensive game?you must be joking.he has been working on that for ten years!!!.he had zero hits.come on dude get with it he sucks.the good ship SHITSBISTER HAS SAILED.

  27. I agree Stuart, they need to call up at least one, biggest need is a forward. They have no healthy scratches right now. Still, if they call someone up, Immo is going to sit. It would most likely be Dawes or Callahan.

    Nick

Yeah, I remember…they got a goal that was definitly not a goal and it turned the series around for the Ranger’s. Hey, I’m not complaining.

  29. as much as losing Hossa is terrible news (ironically most of us would have been happy if this happened a month or so ago) its interesting to see what the Organization does now?

Will they call up Dawes, Callahan… or hey even Huge Jessiman? They definitely have possibilites in Hartford…

or will Renney stand pat and re-unite Straka, Jagr and Nylander, thus slipping Immonen back into the lineup???

    we shall see….

  30. Whoever comes up, I’d like to see them play a firey game with Cullen and Orty. Now that I’ve looked at it, if they want to move Prucha back to the left side, it will be Callahan. If they want to keep him where he is and call up a left winger, it will be Dawes.

  31. Longtimerangerfan: Do you think Renney had something to do with this win? Wanna buy a bridge?

It’s funny.. did you catch Renney talking to Lundqvist before the shootout… Sam, it’d be interesting to find out what he said. I think he told Henrik to watch out for Kozlov and attack the puck on his SO attempt…

    oh isnt that what happened.

  32. PW… your right, but i think we’ll all agree that Prucha is performing much better on the right side. So maybe Dawes will be the one ot get a call… and he does have more NHL games than Cally under his belt (which seems to be a requirement to play for the rangers these days)

  33. czechthemout!!!!! on

renney is definatly ,positively, and probobly the reason the icelanders got the point tonite good job tonite tom.

  34. I think they should NOT reunite the big 3.. They need some scoring from the other lines…. Put Avery in Hossa’s spot ..

Keep Straka on the 2nd line….

they need to spread out their top scorers….

Cullen sprained his MCL earlier this yr. and missed 1 game, there are different levels to a sprain.. He skated off… I bet it will not be as severe as Tyutins…

  35. if Callahan had been out there tonite instead of hasbister, he might have scored a goal and won this thing in regulation.

  36. AngelusMortis on

bklynblue, someone in the other thread said they did a rewind on their Tivo and said that Betts’ shot was a no-goal off the post.

  37. i’m actually hearing it went in… should be a video up soon.. i’ll update if i can

  38. Longtimerangerfan on

    Dump,
“He’s a good corner guy. He’s strong. He has no problem with the blue paint, and by the nature of how the Islanders defend us—it’s everybody back, they’re firm in their own end, they’re firm in the corner, they’re firm in front of the net—we have to be able to access those areas and get the puck, Renney said. “That’s what I see in Brad’s game. That along with the requisite experience at this time of year—that certainly doesn’t hurt.

    Renney’s comments…not mine.

  39. DumpJagrDope on

“word is betts scored but no one asked for a review. Why???????????????”

    Renney is a moron

  40. angelus I have to go back but you need more than the one angle, I think it hit the back bar.

  41. I may be in the exteme minority, BUT Isbister looked good tonight. He was very strong on the puck and was able to keep it down low indirectly creating scoring chances. Many of those shots 6-7 minutes into the 3rd could be indirectly credited to Brad.

PS Betts definitely hit the post. There was no doubt. I used slow motion myself and it definitely hit post

    I hope Callahan replaces Limpwrister.

Hope in one hand and crap in the other and see which one gets filled first.

  43. DumpJagrDope on

Call up Moore, he is big, fast, good defensively and can score and hit, unlike Shitbistro.

  44. Did you guys watch this game? Isbister was a force. He was skating in the corners like nothing, they couldnt get him off the puck. It is definitely good to have a guy like that

  45. trueblue1127 on

hey sam, can u find out about the goal that was missed when it seemed Blair Betts put the puck in? many people are saying that was a goal and no one ever knew.
    thanks

  46. GONYR don’t waste your breath. there is a group of 5 to 10 frustrated coach’s who know better then everyone..

the Rangers won a fabulous game today, they had 57 shots on goal and these guys are still snipping like little girls..

they are never happy. Are the Rangers a great team? No
But they should make the playoffs. Who is a great team? I see none……

  47. DanTheRangerFan on

Well I was shocked ny shitbister tonight, im usually on the wagon with why is he playing…but he showed some good strength and puck work tonight. He came out playing. So in my book he moved up a slight notch..stress the slight!!!

  48. DumpJagrDope on

“Did you guys watch this game? Isbister was a force. He was skating in the corners like nothing, they couldnt get him off the puck. It is definitely good to have a guy like that”

oh please, he is like a poor man’s Marcel but minus 80 hits. Running around with a puck behind the net not knowing what to do with it.

  49. I did not say he needs to work on his offensive game, I said he CAN work an offensive game. Meaning, unlike Hollweg, he can get the occasional pass on a stick blade or the occasional shot on goal. And unlike Orr he doesn’t trip on his own skates.

But why am I bothering here? This is the same group of people that thought Hossa needed to go to the ECHL and worships Hollweg’s energy while ignoring his futility. We can put skates on a dog and he’ll play with a ton of energy, doesn’t mean he’ll help the team. “Energy” players are a dime a dozen, and Isbister just brings a bit more of a complete game than Hollweg or Orr (5% of a decent hockey player is worth more than 1%)

  50. DumpJagrDope on

give Hollweg 18 minutes and he will show you more than Isbister in the entire season.

  51. DumpJagrDope on

“Beamer good post. 4th liners need to get 5 to 9 goals a yr. not 1″

4th line center that can’t get more than 2 assists per season is to blame here

give Hollweg 18 minutes and he will show you more than Isbister in the entire season.

he’ll definitely show more hitting, but please don’t tell me the guy will create much offense.

  53. Isbister was a force.
I agree, he is a farce.

He was skating in the corners like nothing.
again I agree, he looks like nothing all right.

they couldn’t get him off the puck.
kind of like a dog and a hydrant.

  54. “”4th liners need to get 5 to 9 goals a yr. not 1â€?””

what a load of b.s. that is.

show me 10 teams out of 30 that have 15 to 27 goals from their 4th line. go ahead, einstein. show us even 10 teams that have 15 to 27 goals from their 4th line . NOT the 3rd line, NOT 3 and a half, but true 4th liners. go ahead, pal.

  55. DumpJagrDope on

“he’ll definitely show more hitting, but please don’t tell me the guy will create much offense”

    neither has Isbister

  56. Richthehshredder on

Its sucks that Hossa is hurt playing his best Hockey. We’ll most likely put in Immonen. Who knows about a call up………I hear Dale Purinton is tearing up the leauge lately!!

  57. Just back from the Garden. What a hockey game. There were parts of the third period where it seemed that it was DP taking on the Rangers by himself. Michael Nylander led the Rangers with 8 shots on goal….just none of them came on a power play which he played 7 minutes of 10. Regardless, it is about time. Straka was not shooting. He played too much on the point. Paul Mara was aggressive at the point on the pp. Mara was able to keep the puck in at the point on numerous occasions which was a big reason why the Rangers took 57 shots tonight.
Peter Prucha played like a lion again. Sean Avery was playing like it was a seventh game. Gerardi was very agile and showed great poise in circumstances that he himself created by coughing up the puck in the defensive zone. But Gerardi finds himself quickly and adjusts.
I just found out that the Islander goal was kicked in inadvertently by Paul Mara. In that case, Henrik was in top form all night. I really think he gets a buzz from the crowd noise level.
Rosival plays too much. The Cullen power play unit plays too little. Paul Mara should play the whole power play. Jagr, Nylander should take a seat during the power play for a couple of games and watch.
Ryan Smith is going to look good in a Ranger uniform next year. He loves Glen Sather.

  58. Because this goal went off of Mara’s leg, whereas the Ward goal that really pissed people off was jammed in by his stick? Or was that the Rachunek goal that really pissed people off.

But as mentioned, when you win, things matter less. And when it’s only happened once, as opposed to being a trend throughout the season…
