What’s next, no coffee?

Greetings from Continental Airlines Arena, where I saw my first professional sporting event of any kind, a 1981 pre-season basketball game between the Nets and the then Washington Bullets. Not sure that’s relevant, but I figured I’d mention it.

Anyway, loyal readers, the bad news is our good friends to the west are not providing wireless internet access, which makes my new life as a blogger more difficult. But just as a good coach can shake up his lines from time-to-time, I can adjust.

But enough about my problems.

As was suspected earlier, it appears Kevin Weekes is the first casualty of the pre-season, sustaining only a slight tweak to his groin in Monday’s Blue and White scrimmage. He was pulled from action today purely as a precaution, and might skate in practice tomorrow. Whether he’ll play tomorrow night at the Garden, however, remains doubtful.

Anyway, that’s all for now. I’ll try to figure this internet thing out so I can still give updates between periods.

Great to see you full-time on the hockey beat at The Journal News. Readers should know that with Mr. Weinman at the helm, we are getting a great hockey writer who knows the game, is passionate about the game and has a lot to say regarding our Rangers.

I look forward to hearing from you, Mr. Weinman.

    Your Friend,

    Patrick Hoffman

  2. Sam, thanks for the breaking info on Weekes.

It would be great if you could provide updates between periods since there’s no TV or radio coverage and the Rangers have all their exciting kids in the lineup tonight (Dawes, Staal, Dubinsky, etc).

  3. aha.. I see from previous comments that it will stream on WFAN’s website. Still hopeful you’re able to provide insight… this blog has been great.
